Caitlyn’s POV

I walked down the beach after dinner. We had gone to a fancy Italian restaurant, so I was wearing heals. Every time I stepped forward, my heals sank backward into the sand a little. I took another step forward and waited for my heal to stop sinking backwards, but it didn’t.  I heard a sickening snapping sound, and I fell backwards. I looked and saw that not only had I twisted my ankle, both of my heals had snapped. Those were my favorite heals. I lay in the sand in pain and wretched grief. My favorite Jimmy Choo heals! I couldn’t believe it.  I lay there for what felt like hours until I heard footsteps behind me.

“Caitlyn? Oh God, did you twist your ankle?” Matthew asked.

“That’s not the worst of it,” I moaned, “I broke both of my Jimmy Choo heals!” I then broke down into tears.

“Caitlyn, I’m sure those heals were important to you, but what’s more important is that we get you to the hospital,” he said calmly.

I then picked up one of the blood-red stiletto heals that had broken off, and chucked it at his head.

“Ouch, what was that for?” he asked with an annoyed look on his face.

“How can you be talking about my personal safety, when my limited –edition, blood-red, Jimmy Choo stilettos are totaled?”

“Because your safety is more important to me then some pair of heals, we can get you new ones, so try and calm down” he said. He leant down to pick me up but I picked up the other heal and threw it at him.

“Did you not here me! I said limited-edition!” I yelled.

“Then we can get them fixed!” he yelled and scooped me up in his arms and picked up the two heals I had thrown at him. I looked down at my feet. Now that I looked at it my left foot was sticking out at a weird angle.

“My foots not supposed to bend like that, is it?” I asked.

“No Caitlyn, its not,” he said with an annoyed tone in his voice. Then my foot started hurting really bad, and I yelled out in pain.

“Oh, I’m sorry Caitlyn, I just bumped into a fence I’m really sorry,” he said.

I would have replied, but the pain was too great and I blacked out.

Matthew’s POV

I carried the unconscious Caitlyn, back to Emma’s house. Her parents spent the summer at the house, so they were up here before us, and would know what to do.

“Mrs. Baker!” I yelled, she came running down the stairs and saw Caitlyn unconscious in my arms, with her foot going off at a weird angle and her broken off heals in my hand.

“What happened?” Mrs. Baker asked as Mr. Baker, Will and Emma entered the room and Caitlyn regained consciousness.

“She fell and twisted her ankle,” I said.

“And more importantly, broke the heals off my limited-edition, blood-red, Jimmy Choo stilettos!” she yelled and took the heals from my hand brandishing them in the air.

Will laughed and Emma gave him a don’t go there look, she knew Caitlyn to well and knew this wasn’t going to make her happy.

“What?” he asked Emma, “It’s just funny that she’s more worried about her shoes, when clearly it should be the other way around, I mean just look at her foot,” he turned to me and asked, “Did she hit her head when…”

He was interrupted by a shriek of anger from Caitlyn as she flung one stiletto heal at him as though it was a dagger.

“Ouch!” he said looking shocked.

“Now if anyone has any other remarks about my personal values, I would suggest they keep it to themselves staring daggers at everyone in the room.

“Come on.” Mr. Baker said, “We better get you to the hospital,”

“And a cobbler!” she shouted.

We rushed into the emergency room, with Caitlyn yelling about her shoes.

“Calm down honey,” a nurse said, “We’ll get your shoes fixed later, first we need to do an X-ray,”

“No! I want them fixed now!” she screeched, and threw another heal at the nurse.

“Someone should take those away from her, she could damage the equipment,” the nurse said to Mr. Baker.

“Alright,” he said not looking too pleased that it was to be his job. He had seen her throw one at Will, and he was now also in the hospital with a possibly broken nose.
