Chapter 6

2 month time jump

Cheryl's pov:

"Yes TT, I'll see you at 2:30" I told my girlfriend over the phone as I walked into my English lesson.

"Promise?"

Gosh she's so adorable.

"I promise, Toni" I giggled.

"Okay. I love you"

"I love you too TT"

After our call, I walked to my seat and sat down in my seat next to my cousin, Betty.

"Hey cher" she smiled over at me.

I returned the smile while getting out my pen and notebook.

"How's Toni?"

I looked over at her once again, confused. I had never told her about Toni, we haven't even talked in a while actually.

"How do you know Toni? And how do you know that we're..?"

"Oh! Jug told me. I guess he and Toni have some photography class together or something" she chuckled.

"Oh. Okay. Yeah Toni's fine, she's finally getting used to being around campus. She still doesn't like to communicate with her professor's, but we're working on that"

"Well I'm sure she'll get of her shyness" betts assured.

"Yeah, hopefully" I sighed.

Toni's pov:

"So who can tell me which mineral is considered the least reliable? Anyone..?" My professor asked.

I just don't understand what any of this means. I don't know why this stuff is important. I wish I could talk to Cheryl about how I'm feeling, like she told me to, but I don't want to dump all my problems onto her. She shouldn't have to worry about me all the time.

"Miss Topaz!" My professor called out, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"I-I'm what?" I whisperd.

"Can you answer the question?"

At this point all eyes were on me and I felt as if I was about to explode.

"I-I don't kn-"

"I don't expect "I don't know's", miss Topaz" she said in a stern voice.

"I-I"

"Jack, why don't you help Toni out" she asked the kid behind me.

"The answer would be Color, Mrs. Landon. Color is the least reliable property for mineral identification"

I had already started feeling bad because I couldn't answer the question, but what made it even worse was when students started staring at me once again, whispering to one another about me.

I couldn't handle it anymore so I shot up from my seat and ran out the room.

"Miss Topaz!" My professor called out, but I wasn't listening, I just kept running and running, until I bumped into someone..

Cheryl's pov:

"Well yes, but come on Jacob is just immaculate!" Veronica said. Her and Betty were arguing over who was hotter, Edward or Jacob. (I personally believe it's Jacob but that's just my opinion)

I was just tagging along while walking back to my apartment. Right when I was about to walk out the exit door, someone bumped into me.

"Hey! Wha- Toni? What are yo-" I stopped when I seen the tears running down her face. She stopped to look at me for a minute before running out the door and down the walkway.

"Toni, wait!" I yelled while running after her.

After about three minutes of just running, I finally mad it to our apartment. I wasn't too far behind Toni so when I got inside she was already in our room with her face in the pillows.

"What's wrong baby?"

"I-I c-can't do i-it" she sobbed.

"Do what TT?"

"C-College. It's s-so hard"

"What happened?"

She sat up and lent against the headboard, calming down a bit. I moved towards her and wrapped my arms around her shoulders and waited for her to talk.

"M-my professor asked me a q-question and I c-could'nt answer it s-so she asked someone else, and w-when they answered c-correctly, some students started whispering ab-bout me"

It hurt to see Toni like this, especially when I couldn't exactly do anything about it.

"I'm so sorry that happened to you TT, but you need to understand that if your feeling like you need help then you have to talk to me, okay? I can help you"

"Okay c-cher" she said, giving me a sad smile.

"Okay. Do you want to watch a movie and cuddle?"

She nodded her head with an adorable pout. We got situated and set up a movie to watch as she layed in my arms.

"I love you so much Toni"

"I love you too Cher"
