Chapter 5

Toni's pov:

Today is Cheryl's birthday and I wanted to do something special for her. In my country, we don't really celebrate birthdays so I just have to try my best with this because I really like her and not just in a way a friend should? I've never felt this way towards anyone. I'm planning on asking her a very important question at the end at the night. Over the past two weeks we've been very close with one another since that night in the rain. We haven't kissed again yet but I'm hoping that changes soon. I really enjoy the feeling of her lips against mine.

Cheryl went to the campus gym. It's currently 12:18pm which means I have about an hour until she's back to get everything set up. I have everything for the picnic here and ready to go I'm just waiting on Betty to come pick me up so we can get it ready. I met Betty about a week ago after Cheryl introduced her to me and told me they were cousins. Betty's really nice and I feel I can already trust her.

I was sitting on the couch waiting when I heard a knock on the door. I walked over and opened it,. revealing a smiling Betty behind it.

"Hey T, ready to go?"

"Yes one second please"

"Of course" she smiled while walking in.

I went back over to the living room and grabbed everything. I was so excited especially to see Cheryl again. I know she's only been gone about an hour but I really missed her.

I walked back to Betty, handing her some things to carry to her car.

"Are you excited?" She asked me as we both buckled our seatbelts.

"Yes very" I smiled as I sighed a little.

"Well then let's get this show on the road"

"Huh?"

"Oh you don't- you know what, nevermind"

Oh well.

Cheryl's pov:

I just got back from the gym, sweaty and gross, and walked into Toni and i's apartment.

"TT?" I called out.

"Over here!" She called.

I followed the direction her voice came from and walked into my room but when I did I was shocked at what she was wearing.

"Uh..hi?"

"Hey" she smiled at me while walking over to me and wrapping her arms around me but quickly retreating.

"Oh your really sweaty" she smiled nervously.

"Oh yeah sorry, gym. Anyways what's up with the dress?"

"Well I have a little birthday surprise for you" she smiled once again.

God that smile's gonna kill me.

"Oh where?" I asked excitedly.

"I can't tell you I'm taking you there. Well, technically you kinda have to drive us because I don't have a car nor my license" she said.
