[Season One]
22 Years Later
Dean glanced at his sleeping sister and smirked as he honked the horn.
The art supplies on Johanna's lap fell to the ground as she jolted up with a shriek. When she saw the culprit, she glared. "You're a jerk."
"That's one of my names," Dean replied. "We're here."
"Couldn't you have just called him?"
"Well, yeah, but this is a lot more fun."
"You're gonna scare him to death, Dean."
"Mmm, more like surprise. Now, are we gonna keep talking or are you coming inside with me?"
Johanna let out a sigh. "And how do you intend on breaking into his apartment?"
Dean held up a lock pick. "With this. Aren't you always saying you're the smart twin?"
"That's because I am smarter. I have a bachelor's in art. Could've been an artist. Guess I still could be. Could've dated a great guy. But I got roped back into the family business, thanks to you and Dad."
"If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were still angry about that. Sorry about the guy. Now, shut up. We're going in."
Dean opened the window and clinked the beer cabinet. He and Johanna walked past the string at the far end of the hall. He hit his hip on the corner of a table and Johanna cracked a smirk.
Sam, who had been woken up, moved to another part of the apartment and waited as Dean and Johanna entered the room.
Sam lunged forward and grabbed Dean's shoulder. Dean knocked Sam's arm away and aimed a strike at Sam, who ducked. Dean grabbed Sam's arm, swung him around, and shoved him back. Sam kicked and was blocked before being pushed into another room. Sam got a glimpse of Dean, though he didn't immediately recognize the fact. Johanna stayed in the shadows, nearly invisible in the dark. Dean elbowed Sam in the face and Sam kicked at his head. Dean ducked and swung, but Sam blocked it. Dean knocked Sam down and pinned him to the floor, one hand at Sam's neck and the other holding Sam's wrist.
"Whoa, easy tiger," Dean said.
Sam breathed hard. "Dean?" His elder brother laughed. "You scared the crap out of me!"
"That's 'cause you're out of practice."
Sam grabbed Dean's hand and yanked, slamming his heel into Dean's back and Dean to the floor.
"Or not," Dean said.
Sam tapped Dean twice where he had him.
"Get off of me," Dean demanded.
Sam rolled to his feet and pulled Dean up. "What the hell are you doing here?"
Johanna walked up and smirked. "We were looking for a beer."
Sam looked at her and smiled as Dean put his hands on Sam's shoulders, shook once, and let go.
"What the hell are you two doing here?" Sam repeated.
Dean and Johanna exchanged a look before Dean said, "Okay. All right. We gotta talk."
"Uh, the phone?"
"If Josie or I'd'a called, would you have picked up?"
Jessica turned the light on. She was in pink short shorts and a gray cropped Smurfs shirt.
"Sam?" Jess called.
The three Winchesters turned their heads in unison.
"Jess," Sam noted. "Hey. Dean, Johanna, this is my girlfriend, Jessica."
