I made it near the palace gates after running home in wolf form. The two guards ran towards me when they spotted me.

"Alpha Prince, your parents are worried sick inside."

I nodded, "Thank you, Alexander."

I ran up the steps and made it inside. My parents were standing in the foyer with Devin and some other guards.

"Logan," Devin shouted when he saw me.

My parents turned around and I could see my mother was crying. I walked quickly to them and instantly my mother pulled me into a tight hug.

"My sweet boy, thank goodness you're alright." She sniffled into my chest, "I thought I lost you again."

I gave my mother a tight squeeze, "I'm sorry Mom. I didn't mean to worry you."

My father placed a hand on my shoulder, "I'm glad you're okay, son." He let out a relieved sigh. "But what were you thinking running off late at night and unaccompanied at that?"

"Yeah man, you could've came to me and I would've gone with you to do whatever it is you went off to do." Devin chimed in.

I let go of my mother, stepped back, and stared at all of them guiltily. "I needed to go on a run. I have a lot on my mind and didn't know what else to do to help get my mind off these things."

"Oh my sweet boy. You know you can come to us and we can help with whatever is bothering you." My Mom said as she gave my arm a slight squeeze.

"Yeah, maybe next time I should because something happened." All three stared at me with curiosity, waiting for me to spill.

"I was ambushed by three Vampires. They came out of nowhere like they were waiting for me."

My mother's face was in shock, Devin's face turned to a scowl, and my father's face was grim.

"Like they were waiting for you?" My father asked and I nodded.

"How do these Vamps know where the hell to find you?" Devin said this as a statement and not a question. "First they wait for you at the club then they wait in the forest."

"There is someone or something else at play here." My father said as he started to hum. "Which leads me back to the witches."

"Dad, we went over this. They are not involved." I calmly told him.

"Son, you do remember the history of the Lycans. Witches were the cause of the Lycans' demise, using dangerous magic that could get themselves killed."

"Dad, I'll talk to Amira tomorrow."

"The Darkholme orphan?" My father's eyes had fiery in them. "You're putting your trust in that girl? Her father was trouble and there's no doubt she is as well!"

"Dad! You can't blame someone for their parents' choices. I trust her and she's important to me... to us." I caught my words too late as my parent's surprised faces showed.

"We'll talk about this in the morning... go to bed." My father's voice was calm, but I knew he was going to rip me apart come morning.

My mother hugged me and whispered, "Everything will be fine. I'll have a word with your father." She kissed me on the cheek before walking away.
