-third person pov-

"seohyun-" a voice called.

just like the last dream she had, everything but his face was clear. again, she couldn't move or speak. she stood there frozen and silent while the other was moving and talking.

though she couldn't move, her eyes scanned the scenery and the person kneeling next to her. his hands and clothes were covered in blood while tears fell onto his hand.

her own clothes were also covered in blood. she could feel the blood dripping down from her forehead.

"s-seohyun! you can't leave c'mon please!"

then, all the sound just stopped. she couldn't hear anything but she saw their mouths moving. suddenly, the scene disappeared into ashes and she was left alone on a cliff. this time she was actually able to move.

looking down at herself, her body was still covered in blood with open wounds.

"kim seohyun, we meet again."

seohyun lifts her head at the sound of someone's voice. in front of her was mikyung standing with a fan in her hand. seohyun's eyes never left the fan and continued to stare.

"pretty isn't it? a black fan with a branch of blackthorn flowers. do you know what blackthorns represent? fate."

"what is this?"

"fate of course. you just dreamt of your fate." mikyung smirks while stepping closer to seohyun.

"why? why are you making me dream of my fate and why now?" seohyun asked while taking a step back.

"because this is where it starts. this is where your fate begins to play out. this is where the prophecy begins."

"prophecy? w-what prophecy?" every step that mikyung takes forward was another step seohyun took backwards.

"the demon who lives to remembers his past life and his lover falls in love all over again in his new life. the human girl who lives fearless of hell becomes his consort. though the two are forbidden, they fight their fate and deny it, only for fate to continue to play out."

"what-"

"the human girl who won't continue on the third night of the full moon, dies in the arms of her lover. that is the prophecy, that is your fate."

mikyung continued to take a step forward while seohyun took a step back.

"the more steps you take back, the sooner you'll fall."

"this is a dream, i'll wake up anyway." seohyun snaps back.

"no you won't. i'm the reason for your dream, i created it. if you fall, you will die in reality."

seohyun's face turns pale.

mikyung opens her fan and fans herself. "let's test something."

mikyung begins to fan the wind to seohyun's direction. with a strong gust of win, seohyun falls back and off the cliff. without any power to stop herself from falling, seohyun closes her eyes and accepts her death.

another large gust of wind swept seohyun from the air. a strong pair of arms held her tight. while seohyun's eyes were clammed shut, the unknown body whispers into her ear.

"wake up."
——
seohyun immediately sat up from her bed with a gasp. panting heavily, she wipes her cold sweat from her forehead and looks around her room.

she gripped the material of her shirt and shut her eyes. she took multiple deep breaths while she set herself back down on her bed.

"it was just a dream seo...snap out of it." she says to herself. her eyes remain glued to her ceiling while she tries to clear her head.

without a reason or another thought, she sits up from her bed and grabs the book from her bedside table. she turned on her lamp on and flipped through the pages.

-//prophecy//-

at the title, seohyun flipped back to the page.

was it just a coincidence that she found this after her dream?

seohyun began to read the text. it read;

nearly two hundred years ago, a prophecy was made by hades, the god of the underworld. the prophecy is that years forward, a demon boy will be born to remember his past life and fall in love again with his past lover. as his lover is a human girl, the two lovers are forbidden and unable to stay together. on the third night of the full moon, the human girl will die in the arms of her lover.
there is no breaking or changing will happen as their fate is only bound to play out.

not wanting to read anymore, seohyun slams the book shut and slams it back on her bedside table. she turns off her lamp and slides back down into the comfort of her blanket.

"i hate this damn prophecy shit.." she grumbles to herself.

after finally clearing her mind from those thoughts, she finally found herself falling into deep sleep. just before she could fall asleep completely, she heard a small whisper.

"i'm sorry for being tied with you."
