Tears And Ice Cream

Sky and I didn't talk to each other the whole day at school but he finally approached me afterschool.

"Lucy are you cheating on me?" Shocked doesn't even begin to describe how I was feeling. "Answer me damn it!" He said a bit louder, getting the attention of two girls from my class that were walking infront of us.

"Sky calm down..." I say quietly. "Don't tell me to calm down Lucy, ARE. YOU. CHEATING. ON. ME!!!" He demanded  grabbing my arm to stop me from walking. I honestly don't know what shocked me more, the fact that he thought I was cheating and he was actually asking me about it, or the fact that he felt he had the right to shout at me infront of half of my school mates.

I pulled my arm away from his grip, "First of all Sky, I don't appreciate the tone you are using on me, you know how I feel about being shouted at." I took in a deep breath to calm myself down and hopefully stop the tears that were threatening to come out, I can't have him thinking I'm weak or anything like that."Secondly, we'll talk about this tommorow when you have hopefully calmed down"

I walk away after that.

"Run away Lucy, like you do whenever you facing a problem, just know that ignoring the problem doesn't solve it"

I ignore Sky and walk faster, I knew Sky was referring to my previous relationship and my inability to solve problems but rather ignoring them and hoping they go away toxic trait I know.

I could feel the tears still threatening to come out, I mean how could Sky embarrass me like that,I keep telling myself that I am a strong woman in construction that will not let a boy make her cry and boy was I wrong because the moment my friend Mia saw me asked if I was okay it was like a whole dam had just exploded.

We went to town and had ice-cream while I told her all about the events of that day. She was shocked at the audacity Sky had to accuse me of cheating, let alone shout at me, more  shocked than I expected actually, then  all of a sudden she went silent.

"Mia are you okay" I asked worried, I had been so busy going on about my toxic relationship that I had forgot to ask how she was doing.
"No, I'm okay friend, it's just that..."

"What Mia talk to me!" I say growing out of patience.
"Sky is cheating on you!!!"

Silence.

"I wanted to tell you friend, but you seemed so happy with him and..."

"...you didn't want to ruin that for me" I say finishing off for her " How long?" I ask.

"What?" Mia asks confused. "How long have you known Mia!!!"

"A few weeks..."

"How did you find out?"

"You know how Sky always lends me his phone..." I nod my head and signal for her to continue, "...well this one time I went through his gallery and found Chelsea's nudes..."

I kept a straight face the whole time, not because I didn't care but because I didn't know which emotion to display; hurt, disappointment, anger...

I stood up, took my school bag and left without saying goodbye, I wasn't angry at Mia or anything, I was just processing the information she had just told me and she knew better than to try and talk to me when I was in this state.

I got home and went straight to my room. I lay on my bed staring up and thinking back to the events of that day, so much had happened in just one day. I don't remember when I fell asleep but when I woke up it was already 04h30 the next day.

I woke up and started preparing for school, it was too early to do so but I intended on taking my time.

And as for Sky...
