*Ethan Norman (POV)*

"What are you thinking?"

"Stop it." I turned towards Lennox who kept nudging me.

"Is it my fault that you are lost in your la-la land?"

I glared at my deskmate with 'do you have a death wish?' written all over my face making him choke on air. My eyes twitched as he pursed his lips in a apologetic way and my cold aura  dissipated apace.

"I am sorry, but you were in a daze.", Len said.

"A person who has a full spirit core, will flourish as a warrior far better than an elementalist, right?", I questioned him without displaying any expression on my façade. Actually, I don't know myself what kind of emotion should I hold...Should it be- Curiosity? Vex? Or maybe jealousy?

"Most likely. Are you talking about that mysterious first-year?", Len sighed. "I am wondering why she chose to be an elementalist when she could be a great knight."

"What 'mysterious'? And who wouldn't wish to be an elementalist? Knights have many restrictions and cannot choose their own path. So, any sane man would have chosen the later."

"I meant we don't know which family she belongs to. I have never heard of 'Costanza' family." Len said in a soft voice as we were in the middle of Professor Tudor's class.

"That's because she is ordinary and is staying at the Norman estate for now along with me.", I whispered back.

"What?! She is a commoner??", Len, practically shouted.

"..."

"She is a wind mage on top of that and she is a commoner? This is rare." Len's words were lined with scepticism. "She definitely is mysterious then! And she is staying at your mansion?"

My eyes re-sprained into a freezing cold glare and I clenched my fist under the desk.

Lennox involuntarily gulped. "You don't like her?"

"She is self-righteous and rebellious.", I said with contempt and derision. The more I thought of her, the more outrageous I felt.

She is high and proud, holding no one in her sight. With a sharp tongue and toxic mouth; she is vile and always does whatever she likes. Moreover, she avoids me as if I am her worst nemesis. And she is at our home picking up things that belongs to me and noona. Who does she think she is? "My dad seems to like her." I said, laughing a little in spite of myself.

Len didn't speak further sensing my hostility and resentment.

"Her family background is suspicious. That's all I can say for now.", I added. Why do I articulate like I am envious of her? I thrive competition, but is it right to feel jealous when she condignly splurges sweat and toil into developing her intelligence and elegance? Her sun like luminescence can overshadow anyone around her. And with that face that looks older than her age.

"But I can't deny that she is someone special...", I breathed hard in a fit of anger and banged my clenched fist on the desk.

"Eth!", Len freaked out. "You. Fire..."

"Norman Ethan!", Professor Tudor shouted. "If you can't control your powers then stop taking your classes!"

I realised what I had done looking at the burning desk in front of me. Once again, I failed to control my mana.

"What are your plans for the afternoon?", Len asked.

"Library." I pointed at the corridor which heads towards the school library. "What about you?"

"I am going back to our dorms. See you at night, bro. Bye-bye."

"Hmm."

"Hello sir, are you Norman Ethan?"

I looked up and saw a blonde girl, smiling brightly. She didn't belch any vibe that could grab my attention. I focused back on the book I was reading and nodded.

"I am Mcmillian Ivan." She protruded her hand in front of me, trying to seize my recognition.

"You are an agitator." Is she blind? Can't she see I am reading?

"I am sorry, but I do have something that I need to tell you." Mcmillian said with her hand still advanced.

Irritated by her mien, I took her hand and said, "It's a pleasure to meet lady Mcmillian. What do you wish to confess?"

Why does this touch feel familiar?...Reviewing her for a second time, her phiz quite resembles Lydia...Why? They don't have any common features, but still her vibes...

"Wait...", I quickly pulled her hand and before the stunned girl could voice out her thoughts, I wrapped my fingers around her thumb.

"Sir Norman...??", she stuttered.

I slightly caressed the back of her hand and brought it near my face, smelling her fragrance. "Who are you?"

"I said I am Mcmillian Ivan from Baron Mcmillian family..."

I immediately choked as I inhaled a galling essence. Her and Lydia's scent are completely different. Lydia smells like fresh milk, a bit chocolate-like. Sweet, ecstatic and enticing...

"Oh! Okay...", I said.

She blushed and spoke in a flustered manner, "Can I continue?"

"Yes, please. Don't mind my behaviour." I don't know myself why I compared her with Lydia.

"Do you know Costanza Lydia?", she smirked.

"..." Can she read my thoughts? Does she know Lydia?

"Do you, senior?"

"No."

She smirked, smugly and said, "She is my classmate and claimed to be under the care of Normans."

"Why do you want to know about her?", I clicked my tongue, raising my minatory eyebrows.

She crossed her arms, tugging the sleeves of her shirt and smiled. "She lacks manners." She took the chair beside me at the long table and sat down. "Umm...Just tell me do you know her?"

In an instant I knew she doesn't harbour any good intentions.
