Gloves swung their legs back and forth, trying to politely let out some of their access energy. Emperor, during training, had took a pretty hard fall and landed badly on his leg, so the lime green inkling was waiting in the hospital for their name to be called. Granted it's be their birth name and not the one they chose. That was gonna be awkward.
Their ears perked up upon hearing the door open, and even more so when the nurse started to call their deadname. "Tho-"
"It's Gloves, actually." They stated, cutting him off. "Sorry.."
"It's fine. But you can visit him, now." The nurse said. "C'mon."
Gloves nodded, following the nurse into Emperor's ward. The inkling was awake-reading a book, to no surprise- with his leg suspended in a cast. Upon hearing the door open, he perked up. "Hello, Gloves." He said, with a warm smile.
They smiled back, taking a seat in one of the chairs. "Hey Emp. How's your leg?"
"Really, I can barely feel it, but that's either because of the meds or the amount of bandages I have around it." He answered. "But, I did end up breaking it, so that....Isn't as fun."
"This is exactly why you need to take breaks." Gloves stated. "So this crap doesn't happen?"
"I say that all the time with your bending and yet you never take breaks" Emperor stated.
"...Touché. Still."
The golden inkling just sighed. "Whatever the case, I broke my leg, and will be unable to play in turf wars for a while. So..."
Gloves raised an eyebrow. "Let me guess, you want me to fill in?"
"Precisely."
"Alright. Team Emperor leader Gloves here.."
