A L I S O N
The chilling air of early November hits me instantly the minute I step out of Cody's convertible car and my bare legs shiver from the impact.
I'm clueless why I'm standing in front of Caroline's house on a Friday night, and my breath is unsteady as I look at it. The week passed out in a rush, and the minute Emma heard there would be a party; she dragged me to it.
I haven't seen Tristan after his confession, and neither messaged him if he was doing fine. It's selfish, I know, but only the thought of seeing him again makes my heart skip a beat.
I take a look at my reflection through the car's window just one more time to make sure I look perfect and despite my worries these past weeks, I look hot and desirable.
I'm wearing a long sleeve mesh back dress that shows enough cleavage, and it's tight against my body, marking every desiring curve that I have, and the high black sandals are enough to give me confidence. The smokey makeup I did and the red lipstick I have on compliment the look, my long curled caramel brown hair swinging on my back.
I can't help but wiggle my eyebrows at Emma who has just got out of the car and it's heading my way. She shows me her tongue and circles on her place, showing how hot she is looking.
The deep red matching set she chose consists of a ruffled bow crop top and a high waisted mini skirt. It contrasts with her shiny straight chestnut brown hair and her chocolate eyes glow under the moonlight.
Cody accompanies us and lazily places his right arm around her shoulders, giving her a short and sweet kiss on the cheek. I smile at them, at how much my best friend is happy with him. They decided to take it slow and wait to have sex and I can't be more secure towards Scott's best friend.
If he breaks her heart, I'm going to ruin him.
With one last deep breath and another glance at the enormous house in front of me, I head in its direction, already feeling the buzz of the alcohol and music through my system.
Lots of my classmates are already hooking up or playing beer pong and a few of them stare at me as I get inside Caroline's party, the smell of drugs filling my nose. The entire place is decorated with white balloons and red lights; electronic music is reverberating through the room and a massive projector screen takes place sustained by her balcony, videoclips passing on it.
I hold my chin up as I get closer and closer to the heart of the party, my heart slamming against my chest and when I finally reach the dance floor, scanning the drunk people that are having the time of their lives, my ex-best friend's gaze burns on me.
Caroline is standing next to the white and grey marble bar where I had those several shots one year ago and she flashes me the devilish smile possible, her request making it impossible for me to breathe.
