The other four girls who signed up for badminton came in time. As expected, they all huddled towards Dohyun. Jiwon rolled her eyes while her hand was busy closing the lid of her jug.
"Jiji!" Jae called her attention as he took a seat next to her.
"You're late for once." She teased.
"Believe it or not but my alarm didn't go off," he chuckled. "Hey, Park Jaehyung! You haven't left yet?!" He mimicked his mom's voice which made them both laugh out loud.
"You've been gaming all night haven't you... was it league? You should've called so we could rank up!"
"Sorry, buddy. I was grinding on rust the whole night with lily, Denny, rae and daph."
"You must be popular now with the ladies, huh?" She teased. "Which one of them do you like?"
Dohyun noticed the slight change in atmosphere when he watched her smile which was contagious to him but glared at the boy who seemingly looked close to her.
"Let's start with you, Dohyun." Coach Kim zapped him back to reality. "Demonstrate the foot work for them."
The girls squealed which irritated Jiwon. "When will those people do this seriously?" She rolled her eyes for the nth time.
"You jealous?" Jae nudged.
"You must be kidding me." Jiwon stood up with a sour expression and took her racket to the other court for her to start doing half court over head drills.
The girl nearly choked on her water when one of the girls sprained her ankle from just doing foot work while Jae snorted at the sight and patted her back.
Dohyun showed no interest in helping the girl on the floor which caused Jiwon to jog over and help her up instead. Once she stretched her hand for Sara to take, she swatted Jiwon's hand away and stood up herself since she expected Dohyun to help.
"That ungrateful brat." Jiwon muttered.
"Jiwon," dohyun called. "Catch!" He said as he threw a Gatorade bottle at her which she caught.
"Where'd you get this?" She asked while opening the lid.
"My driver brought the cooler up but my parents bought these."
"Where are they? I should thank them."
"They must be busy with wo-"
"Sir, your mom just texted me. They're going up right now." Dohyun's driver cut him off.
Before he could say anything, his parents were on his way to approach them.
Jiwon squinted her eyes and remembered seeing his father at the restaurant the other day but the woman was different.
Flashback
"You're parents are here?" Jiwon whisper-yelled.
"My dad." He whispered back.
"After all the years I've spent with Doyeon, I've never seen your parents. I should say h-"
"No don't. You're gonna regret it. And please don't tell Doyeon you saw them here, okay?"
Jiwon sighed then got the extra small bowl she had and placed some of her ramen in it since she got a size that fits for three people.
"I feel bad. Here." She pushed the bowl towards him.
"You didn't put anything bad in here did you?"
"If that's your way of saying thank you, then you're welcome. Don't you dare think I like you; I just gave you that so you would be quiet."
Dohyun quickly slurped the ramen and grabbed the take out which was given by the waitress earlier.
"Got to go." He said and jogged out the place, dodging people who passed by.
"Oi! No thank you? Sheesh, what's new?" Jiwon rolled her eyes and continued to enjoy her meal.
