I pulled up and grabbed my bag - evidence that I'd been in school - and raced up to my father's office, waving at Ranger Lakes on the way. I breezed in without knocking. Keith looked up and smiled in pleasure and satisfaction. "Hey."

"Hi Dad." I tucked my hair back. "What's up?"

He'd rounded the desk by now and leaned against it. "I want you to run an errand for me."

"Okay, what?"

"Here." He handed me a list.

I scanned it quickly then looked up, puzzled. "Didn't Dane get the groceries already?"

"He forgot some things and I couldn't reach him today."

Yeah, and this was an emergency. "I'm on it, Dad. After all, how can we possibly survive the night without two cans of tuna?"

He shot me a look at the sarcasm and said, "I knew I could count on you."

"Anything else?"

"No, that's it."

"Okay. See you later." I left and fought the urge to giggle until I was in my car.

Groceries. Right.

When I pulled up in LG's commercial area, Warren was leaning against a lamppost, his arms crossed casually as he waited for me. His eyes lit up and he smiled when he saw me. I ignored all the girls ogling him as he stepped up and opened my door. Of course he'd known where I'd park but why had he left home? "Shouldn't you be enjoying Veronica's lunch right now?"

He leaned in and whispered playfully, "I suddenly had to go shopping. It was of the highest priority."

I laughed at that. "And Veronica let you?"

He smirked as his arm slid around my waist. "Mother allows me anything if I select the correct expression."

A group of girls passed us and stared blatantly at him, making me frown. Warren chuckled in my ear and pulled me to him tightly. His lips were on mine before I even registered what was going on. His kiss was tender again with just enough passion to leave me wanting more. When he pulled back he gazed at me, amused at his effect on me. "Shall we?"

He herded me into a grocery store while I was still dazed. He helped me with the groceries then took me to a boutique talking about getting a new shirt. The moment we walked in I realised that it only sold women's clothes. "Your taste is improving," I teased with a smile.

He headed to a specific rack and held up a tiny pair of denim shorts triumphantly. "I do believe these are the blue ones."

It took a moment to sink in. "Ashley!" I hissed. "Well she's crazy. I'm never wearing that!"

Warren had zoned out. His eyes were locked on my legs - currently encased in jeans - and desire flared in his eyes, making me raise an eyebrow. "Hello?"

His eyes dragged up to mine and I was surprised by how possessive they were. He pulled me against him and whispered in my ear, "My eyes only." Then he kissed my temple and we headed to the till.

"So when does your party start exactly?" I asked as we walked into my house.

He followed carrying the shopping bags. "Mother and I came to an arrangement."
