WHAT TOY?
Your POV :
"Shit!" You yelled, hammering down your fists on the counter. "Heusc get the jet ready now!" You shouted at the wall of screens. "Y/n! It's too dangerous, you can't go alone!" Suzue called out, as she swung her chair around, facing you, as you walked away. "I can do this Suzue.. I've done it before and I can do it again." You growled
"I'll send you Kai's schedule!" You yell before entering the elevator.
Ever since you met Daisuke, from the day you had to team up with him for a long going investigation, you both swore to each other no matter what happens to either one of you; you will always have each other's back. The risking of each other's lives, not caring about how significant the situation is, the love and compassion for one another grew and grew.
"Heusc send me Daisukes last location" You tapped into your bracket and spoke, walking out of the basement, back upstairs to the exquisite white corridor and to back outside to your car.
Zooming through the streets, and cars, you were getting calls after calls from Suzue, Aito, and from Daisukes family. Why are they calling? They don't even care about Daisuke. Half of them didn't even show up to our wedding. You said to yourself, with your eyebrows furrowed.
Daisuke never clicked with his family. They were too dug into business. There was no thanksgiving, no birthdays, no Christmas, no Easter. No event was held. Everyday it was constant work, work, work. By this fixed mindset, as Daisuke grew older, he was brought up into this lifestyle; causing him to constantly work too. Realising that his family was too manipulative and stuck up with everything, he cut ties with mostly everyone ever since he met you.
Arriving home, you quickly walked up the mountain of stairs and flung open the door. "Ma'a-" "Gerald! I need you to drive me to the private sector of the airport!" You yelled, running up the stairs. "Where are you going?!" He asked. "Daisuke has been caught!" You responded, as you jogged into the shared room, pulling out random clothing and shoving it into a gym bag.
"Spare ear pieces, swim suit, glasses, gun-" you was saying all the things you has packed, making sure everything was there, until Kai came in. "A gun? What happened to papa? You said he got caught," you hear a innocent voice. Your sights widened and you turned around, facing Kai who stood at the foot of the shared room, with his head tilted in confusion and eyebrows furrowed.
"I-uh- nothing baby, papa just needs to me to see him, because h-" "is he buying me a toy?" He asked. Your mouth was hung slightly and your eyebrows were raised when he said that. "How did you know?" You asked sarcastically, and played along-as you twiddled your fingers behind your lower back. With the guns trigger resting on the pad of your index finger, it dangled and swayed, trying to slip off your finger. Feeling a random fabric you felt grazing against your knuckles, you slithered the gun into the fabric, hiding it.
Luckily the rest of the machinery was in a separate gym bag and zipped away on the other side of the bed. Flushing relief over you.
"And your going to help him to pick the best one! Aren't you? That's why your going!" His little hands and arms shot into the air. His smile brought tranquil away from the whole situation with Daisuke. "That is correct!" You zipped the suitcase, then walked to up to Kai, kneeling on both of your knees, pulling him into a hug.
A couple of seconds later, you both hear barks growing louder and louder. It was Marcus. "Marcus! Guess what papa is doing!" He pulled away from your grip and hugged the Great Dane, with his pointy black ears and a dominant stance, he started to lick Kai's face in compassion with little giggles coming out from Kai.
"Papa is going to buy me a big present from London! I think it might be a toy car? A teddy bear? Even if it's not a toy or big present or even if it's small, I wouldn't care! Hehe stop licking me!" Kai stroked his fur and started to pull away. "Even if it's a book, I will read it with him and learn new words! Right mama?" Kai looked up to you, who was still sat on on your knees, holding your tears back and nodding.
"That's right" You spoke under your breath, seeing Kai laughing and smiling with Marcus.Kai doesn't know about the rich façade that Daisuke has inherited. He always questioned about how yourself and Daisuke bought such a prodigious house, expressive wearings, the cars, his toys, books, etc. The simplistic answer to give him every time was.. hard work.
From then he started to dedicated his learning and take pride in everything. Showing off his alphabet letters that he wrote in his scribbled handwriting, the pictures he drew, his fluent reading, him sitting next to Daisuke whenever he's doing paperwork in the office; trying to read the difficult words; It was better this way, there were no lies in this. It was for the sake of his upbringing. Daisuke didn't want to have money being flashed around him all the time. He didn't want him to be spoilt. He wanted Kai to have the real childhood experience that he didn't endure himself. He wanted what was best for Kai.
It still shocks you that he's only three, and he's managing well.
I wonder what toy you will buy him next Daisuke - you chuckled.
