*Part two of the Halloween party*
All around the room, fog machines began to rise up from under the floor and a hazy cloud surrounded the group. The multicolored lights that dimly illuminated the room combined with the fog made it much harder to make out my surroundings, but the ballroom was definitely much spookier.
"Alright, alright, before we get this party started, there are a few things that Steve is making me go over." He says with a grin, looking over at Uncle Steve and making a heart with his hands.
"First off, no one under the age of 25 will be allowed to compete because I have better things to do than arranging a lawyer to handle any lawsuits from the entertainment company that comes our way. No, that does not include thousand-year-old frost giants or Asgardians, Thor." He explained reluctantly, looking entirely bored while waving dismissively at Thor's raised hand.
"Second, we are playing for a prize, which I will wait to reveal until the tournament is over." He said, followed promptly by a few boos from Uncle Clint and Sam.
"Finally, don't break anything. The furniture costs more than you all make in a year. Now, who's ready to get started?" He said, cueing Rhodey to turn the music back up.
A screen above the bull turned on, revealing a player selection screen where anyone participating could put in their name and the difficulty level they wished to try.
The first to rise from their chair was Uncle Clint, flashing Aunt Nat a smile as he walked over to put his name into the display. He was immediately followed by Sam and Pietro, who were both shoving each other out of the way to try and put their name in first. On the other side of the room, I saw Wanda trying to coerce Vision and Bruce to go up and join, and eventually, they both got up and walked calmly towards the bull.
"What is this Midgardian form of entertainment?" Thor asked quietly so that only the people around him could hear.
"Really brother? This contest is no different than you and your little friend's attempts at taming the Midgard Serpent. This should be a breeze for you, 'oh great one'." Loki said sarcastically, looking like he had better places to be or better things to be doing.
"Alright, if you say so. Lady Winnie, hold my hammer for me while I attempt to tame the mighty beast, won't you?" Thor said, attempting to hand me his hammer, not realizing that I would have little success in picking it up.
"Wait, Thor, just set it on the table, I can watch it from here," I said, hoping to avoid crushing any fingers or toes.
Thor set his hammer down on the table and winked at me before setting off to add his name to the list.
"Mr. Rogers, sir, why aren't you going over to compete?" Pete asked nervously, avoiding eye contact but still looking in his direction.
"I'm too old for that Pete. I could, uh, throw my hip out, or something." Uncle Steve said, avoiding the question.
"Cmon, Uncle Steve, we all know that won't happen." Across the room, my Dad stands up and starts walking over towards the display. "Besides, Dad is going to try," I say, giving him a little look while the others are focused on the bull.
"Well, I guess I'll go try it then. Thanks, doll." He says, giving me a little wink as he gets up and jogs over to where the other competitors are standing.
"Is that everyone that wants to compete? Are you suuuurrreeee?" Uncle Tony says, looking over at Rhodey at the DJ booth.
"Nuh-uh, no way, you are not getting me on that thing," Rhodey says, crossing his arms over his chest and staying where he is.
