Get Together

*Winnie is 16*

Get-togethers with Peter are so much fun, but get-togethers with Shuri AND Peter are even better! Shuri hasn't been to the compound before so I invited her to stay and then her and Pete could finally meet! When I told Peter, he was worried about his Spider Man duties but I made sure that Uncle Tony could take care of it. It took a lot of convincing but I always win.

T'Challa should be here soon to drop off Shuri. I'm so excited for my best friends to finally meet!

(5 Minutes Later)

Shuri is here! After their ship lands, T'Challa and Shuri step off and I race to give her a hug and I say hello to T'Challa as well. My dad comes out to talk to T'Challa as I take Shuri by the hand and lead her into the compound. I give her a quick tour of the place then I show her my room. She set down her stuff and smiled.

"Your room is smaller than mine back in Wakanda. I like it."

"Well thank you Your Highness." I say with a curtsy.

We both laugh and we sit on my bed.

"So, when is your other friend you keep talking about coming?" Shuri asks.

"Peter should be here any minute. He texted me a couple minutes before you landed." I say. "I think you guys will really like each other. You both love science and techy stuff and I know he is super excited to meet you!"

"I am also excited to meet this Peter but I need to know something. Does he like Vines?" Shuri asks completely seriously.

I laugh. "How could he be my best friend if he didn't like vines? To be honest, he quotes them more than I do."

"Then I should have no problem liking him." Shuri says with a smile.
We both laugh. While waiting for Peter to show up, Shuri shows me some of her new inventions on her holographic bracelet. She kept talking about some kind of tech stuff but I don't really remember. My brain doesn't do science. After that we just talked and caught up on each other's lives. Of course we talk all the time but she has been getting more busy these past couple of months since she is getting older, and she has to learn more duties about being a princess. She tells me about how Okoye has been teaching her more fighting skills. I tell her that Aunt Nat is still making me train with her every morning. Though it can be a pain, she has taught me a lot and she says that I'm getting better than Clint. Of course Clint was in the vents at the time and yelled at her, but she didn't care. After talking for a bit, I asked if she wanted to go outside on one of the balconies to see if Peter had shown up yet. She said sure and so I led her outside. We watched S.H.I.E.L.D vehicles drive around and I see Pietro running his usual 100 miles for the day around the track. I was about to ask if Shuri wanted to come back inside when we heard a "Hey guys!" behind us. We turn around and see Peter standing with his bookbag still on. I run over to him and we do our special handshake as Shuri walks over to us.

"Shuri this is Peter, Peter this is Shuri. You both have heard a lot about each other so..."

They shake hands and say hello to each other.

"Winnie seems very fond of you Peter. She has told me you like Vines, which is a good sign." Shuri says.

Peter chuckles. "I do love Vines. I quote them too much according to pretty much everyone."

We laugh as my dad comes outside on the balcony with us.

"Hey guys, Steve got some pizza if you want some."

All at the same time, we turn our heads. "PIZZA!" we shout and run inside as my dad stands there with wide eyes.

"Damn, they're like tiny vultures..." He says underneath his breath.
We reach the kitchen and Uncle Steve is already there opening up the boxes and getting plates out of the cabinet. He turns to see us running towards him and his eyes go wide. We stop right beside him waiting for him to give us a plate like little ducklings following the mother duck. He blinks a couple times, still confused as he hands us a plate gently. We say thank you and we get our pizza and sit down at the bar counter. We dig in as Uncle Steve sighs and shakes his head just as Dad comes into the kitchen and gets a plate.

"I don't think I've seen someone who wants pizza that much before." Dad says to Uncle Steve.

"They came running like it was the end of the world or something." he replies and gets cups down from the cabinet. He pours us some water and we all say thank you at the same time and scarf down our pizza. He jumps a bit.

"Uhh... no problem..?"

We all laugh including dad as we finish our pizza and put our plates in the sink. I lead Pete and Shuri to my room as dad and Uncle Steve clean up, still a bit puzzled by what just happened.

Once we get to my room, Peter sits on my hanging chair and me and Shuri sit on my bed.

"So what do you guys want to do now?" I ask.

"We could watch some vine compilations?" Peter suggests.

"That sounds perfect Peter." Shuri says with a smile.

"Alright let's go to the theatre." I say leading the way as we run to the movie room.

I turn everything on and Peter gets the fuzzy blankets. All three of us sit down, with me in the middle, as the video starts to play.

Apparently we must have fallen asleep because when I woke up, it was 7 oclock in the evening. I saw Shuri lying peacefully while Peter was curled into a tiny ball. I could barely even see his face because of how many blankets and pillows he had surrounding him. I smile and decide to just go back to sleep since we clearly burned enough energy laughing. I'd say the day turned out pretty well.
