YATAGARASU: the flawless wings

Encounter

Ellie tugs on my arm and turns the corner away from the man disintegrating the city at an alarming rate. I turn around to see if were safe, bad idea btw, and the building we just turned just fucking disappeared i mean cmon.

"What does it look like behind us James!" Ellie screams back to me while tugging on my arm and running.

"It's better if we don't look back."

You know i thought it would be easier to be the one being led to safety, but it's really hard to keep up with this red head. I look behind me again, the boy is chasing us.
He shouts and throws an object at us.

"James what is he doing?!" Ellie asks while pulling me and yata into another turn.

"I don't kn-" I get cut off by an explosion.

The blast sends me and Ellie flying into the air. Yata hops safely off my shoulder as I summon a cushion for our landing. Ellie goes head first into the cushion and bounces off into the hard street, I do the same shortly after. Ellie slowly starts to crawl onto her feet. I turn around to see the man right behind us.

"Running away only works in the movies." He chuckles to himself while slowly walking towards us.

I look over to see Ellie badly scraped up and bleeding from the explosion impact. She is barely able to make it to her feet, but I can hear the determination in her voice.

"I'm not staying down"

The man smiles at Ellie, then looks at me for a second. I'm on the floor looking up at him wondering if Ellie is gonna be able to fight back.

"Thank you very much James, now that my father is dead I can have his crow" he snarls at me.

I cough up some blood while I'm preparing to talk

Cough "if that was your father I killed, where were you!" I wipe my mouth off, the blood goes from my hands to my shirt as I wipe it off.

"Ha!" He starts to laugh at me, a smile goes from one cheek to the other.

"James, I killed my father not you, you just happened to knock him unconscious."

"Then why didn't you kill me too...." Cough! I can't stop bleeding from my mouth at this point.

"You didn't seem like a threat at the ti-" Ellie stops him mid sentence and pistol whips him from behind.

"Get up James lets go!" Ellie tries picking me up but I'm too weak to continue.

"James get up let's go!" I'm too heavy for her to pick up because she is desperately trying to help me, I'm starting to fade away. Everything becomes too dark to see.

"JAMES!" I hear one last scream before going completely out.

3 hours later 2/9/18 10:00 pm

I have a headache, where the hell am I? I get up out of a chair and look around, it's my house and yata isn't around either so i can't use my powers if i wanted to. I walk towards my room.

"Maybe that was all just a dream." I unlock my door and I'm more than upset

"Oh hi loser, I thought I'd do Ellie a favor and take you back home." It's Layla, this day is horrible.

"Oh and I made myself at home, your room is pretty nice looking pumpkin, hehe." Layla teases me while she gets my room dirty.

"Wait is Ellie ok!" I remember and start to worry.

"Oh relax, after I got my chest kicked in I chased after you and Ellie." She starts to give a frown.

"But uh she was fighting Tyrus while you were unconscious."

"She told me to get you out of there so I did exactly what she said, I hate to say this, but I'm really happy I didn't lose you James."

"Well where is Ellie now!" I demanded to know.

"I picked you up three hours ago, who knows where she could possibly be" she starts to fiddle with my books.

I quickly grab my stuff and storm out of the house. I hear Layla's footsteps follow from behind.

"James where are you going!" She grabs my hand and stops me. She looks into my eyes and I can tell she really doesn't want me to go.

"I know his name now, I can stop Tyrus." I quickly snap my hand away from hers.

"But you're not going without me!" I let her grab my hand again.

"We can talk about why I was a jerk to you later James lets go!" I pull her arm and we run out of the house together to find out what happened 3 hours ago.

I start to take the usual route from my house to Ellie's, to my surprise it's all there, even Ellie's house. He already reset everything. I let go of Layla's hand.

"What is it James?" She speaks to me softly.

"Where's my mom..?" I ask.

"She wasn't home James?" She looks confused.

"My mom is always home at this time watching tv, if she isn't there...." I fall to my knees and realize what's going on.

"She no longer exists, Layla." Layla puts an arm around me, I don't know what got into Layla but it's helping a lot really.

"We're gonna stop him James" she pulls me up with her arm and we walk to where I last remembered.

2/10/18 12:00

We finally retrace where I passed out in the city, except there wasn't a huge black hole where Tyrus was anymore. Not even the blast marks were there anymore, almost like it never happened.

"Lana!" Layla summons her crow and her eyes flash white, she starts to blast a hole into the ground where she remembers me laying.

The hole is covered by dust and debri after the small blast from Layla. When the dust finally settles we can see the road slowly reforming to its non broken state.

"Looks like Tyrus can do a lot more than just erase things."
