I can't believe my eyes right now, almost everyone has a crow with them.... is there even a point of hiding yata anymore.
"Yata! Cover yourself" I order him
Yata proceeds to use his power to make himself invisible to others, even people with crows.
Ok now that Yata's invisible I can go by and pretend to not see what's going on, I'm sure the other crows explained it to them. As I walk up to the schools front doors the other crows stare at me, I was the one who set them free..... I thought I was doing them a favor.
"Hey James" a voice says from next to me. It's layla!
"AHH!!" I scream and jump back ready to fight her again.
She smirks at me and walks by.
"Y-you don't wanna fight me?" With a worried look on my face I look her in the eyes.
"Your not worth the effort." She quickly walks along through the crowd of students.
12:00 pm lunch period
Later on in the school day the bell rings and it's finally 5th period. Lunch time!
I take my seat in the far off end of the cafeteria with yata, watching all the kids pretend not to see each-other and their crows . I usually sit by myself, or always actually. It's better this way for me, less people to who can hurt me I suppose.
"Can I sit here?" An unfamiliar voice says.
"ACK!" Surprised out of my thoughts I bounce back. It's the new girl, they said we would be getting a new student this week....
"Sure...." I say while pulling out a chair for her.
She gives me a concerned look and takes the seat next to me. I get a better look at her. She has long red hair raised in a pony tail, with brown eyes and freckles on her face.
"So ummm... I'm Ellie, nice to meet you James!" She says while holding her hand out awkwardly for a handshake.
"Hi I'm ja-, wait a second!" She puts her hands over her mouth after hearing my remark.
"How the hell do you know my name?" I question her while squeezing her hand.
She panics " I uhh... I-I... it was uhh..."
She hesitates.
"If I tell you would you believe me?" She asks while looking around for people listening.
She points to her crow
"This bird gives me the ability to access all the information in the room" she says while giving an awkward expression.
I let go of her hand "Don't worry I have one too" I say while yata reveals himself.
"It seems like we all have crows then...?" She puzzles
"Yes sadly"
"What's your power then"
"I can't trust anyone with that information Ellie"
"Well I told you mine!" She says with a frown
"I don't have many friends I can trust right this moment...."
"Well I can be your friend" she says while smirking up at me.
I blush. I never had a friend at school before, kinda makes me a loser to be honest, but I don't care. This can be my big break!
"Yes of course you can be my friend Ellie" I say smiling back at her.
"Friends then" she puts her hand up for a high five.
I give her a straight faced look, she puts her hand back down while frowning. We go to get our lunch and talk about our lives soon after.
"So wanna hang after school James?" She asks me
"That's kinda weird to ask a person you just met.."
"Well I wanna know about the crow you got, everyone has one"
If only she knew....
"And plus... your my only friend since I'm new here!" She smiles up at me. Kinda creepy tho....
"It's not like I got anyone waiting at home for me, what do you think Yata?"
All he does is nod his head.
"I guess it's settled then, where should we hang out?"
"I'll show you where I got my crow" she replies.
3:00 final bell rings
