hi, it's been a been minute, but I finally finished Prisoner of Azkaban this evening, and I want to cry. so, here's me ranting before I go to bed bc I have work in the morning. let's go!

reliving the moment where Lupin resigned. . . it still absolutely breaks my heart, because I feel like Remus absolutely loved Hogwarts and called the place home like many did, but I think that the castle also meant a great deal to him bc that's where he had some of the best times of his lives— especially when he was goofing off with the boys.

UM LETS TALK ABOUT HOW SIRIUS BROKE INTO THE TOWER WITH A MF KNIFE. that wasn't mentioned in the movies, and the Shack scene was so much more detailed in the movies. honestly, if they would stop making movies and just turn books into tv shows, they could capture all the detail 🤷🏻‍♀️

and I go soft when Sirius asks Harry if he wanted to move in with him after they cleared his name. and I just 🥺 yes, Dadfoot makes me so soft and this just makes me so excited to write for my Black!daughter fic bc they deserve to be happy

also, that scene in the three broomsticks where they discuss the events of 10/31/81, and they yell at hagrid to shut up constantly? it kind of bothered me that they kept yelling at him to be quiet after he got emotional, like home pals, yall shouldn't have been discussing the matter in a public place.

Neville's punishment was harsh, way too harsh but that's my opinion tbh

and I never liked Snape, and POA only strengthened that hatred for him. he's nothing more than obsessive man who can't let go of the past. like I get that he almost died at sixteen, but is he literally incapable of shutting his stupid mouth for five minutes to realize that the world doesn't revolve around him? you're a bully bc you didn't get the girl, cry a river and build a bridge and get over it. you aren't entitled to the girl bc you showed her basic kindness. you mentally abused students, enough that you were literally a student's boggart and you called one of the top students stupid. I had a teacher call me stupid and my dad was literally livid.

also, I can't believe that Harry tried to kill Sirius with his own hands.

I'm just picturing Sirius in the afterlife with James and Lily like "Harry is totally Prongs' kid, he TRIED TO KILL ME, JAMES!!"

and Lily's like, "I'm not surprised. I'm sure that me and Remus wanted to try a couple of times"

okay, but I'm done now. I've started Goblet of Fire, and I'm going to start the next chapter tomorrow after work
