Yeona got up from her seat, looking at Donghyuck. "What do you mean, 'run away together'? Donghyuck, what's going on?"

He pinched the bridge of his nose, sighing roughly in distress. "My parents- they saw us dancing at the ball the other night. They were furious." He scoffed, "you should've seen their faces."

"Hyuck."

He pursed his lips, "right. Well, they moved Haru and I's wedding to this Friday afternoon."
Yeona blinked in shock, she was speechless. "That's... only four days away."

Donghyuck stood up, walking over to her. "I know. And I just-" He sighed and looked up into the sky in frustration, running a hand through his hair. "I can't marry her, Yeona. I can't do it. I won't do it- but there's no way out."

She stood there, looking at him. "And that's why you want to run away- with me?"

Donghyuck quickly grabbed the both of her hands in his, a spark igniting once their skin made contact. He looked at her dead in the eye. "Don't you see? Don't you feel it? The spark that flows through our body whenever we touch, when we danced last night- and even now. Yeona," he took a breathe.

It was in that moment that it felt like time had stopped. In that moment it felt like they were the only people in the world that mattered.
Yeona held her breathe, awaiting Donghyuck's next words as she looked at him as intensely as he was doing to her.

"I love you."

She let go of the breathe she had been holding, feeling like she could finally breathe normally again. Her heart beated rapidly as she continued to listen to the prince ramble on.

"Yeona, I'm so in love with you it hurts. My heart aches for you and how beautiful you are, inside and out. I love you so much and I always have since we were little. I-"

"Donghyuck."

"Yes?"

Yeona smiled, bringing a hand to his cheek. "I love you too- so much as you do for me."

She stood on her tiptoes as she leaned in, slowly planting a kiss on his lips. The kiss was fragile, sweet; but as Donghyuck kissed her back it deepened. He placed his hands around her waist, holding onto her tightly- scared that he would lose her right in that moment.

Yeona felt something hot and wet on her cheeks and she pulled away, looking at Donghyuck who had tears running down his face. She immediately cupped his cheeks, wiping his tears. "What's wrong? Why are you crying?"

He shook his head, closing his eyes. "I don't want to lose you. I'm so scared of losing you," he whispered. "I lost you once. I can't lose you again."

Yeona put a finger on his chin, making him look at her. "Hey, look at me. You won't lose me, alright? I'll still be here."

Donghyuck pulled her into his arms and leaned his forehead against hers, the both of them closing their eyes. "Love."

"Hm?"

"Do you trust me?" He asked.

"Of course I do."

He pulled his head away from hers and looked at her deep in the eyes. "Then I promise to find a way for us to be together. No matter what happens."
