Bri's POV
I wake up to birds chirping outside my window. Rays of glistening sun flows through my room like trickling rivers of gold. I yawn and roll over, to my surprise, my other best friend, Sadeen, lays beside me. "Good morning love!" She says in a cheerful tone. I almost fall out of my bed in shock. "Do you know what time it is?" I rub my eyes and I shake my head. "It's 7:45 AM love. We have to work today you know." My eyes widen and I run to the restroom to get changed. I put on my work uniform for Ray's Records, where Sadeen and I work, and I open the bathroom door.
"Why were you in my bed Sadeen?" I say as I tie my brown curly hair into a ponytail with a ruby red ribbon. "I was waiting for you to get up. It's not as fun going to work alone." She says as she tucks her shirt in.
We rush down the stairs and run into George in the kitchen. "Ello girls!" He says enthusiastically. Sadeen waves and Stella shuffles in tiredly. Her hair is messed up and her nightgown is crinkled. I pay little attention to it, but Sadeen slams her hand on the island table and I jump. "Lele! You and George?! I had no idea you sly dogs! Congrats love! Congrats to you as well Georgie!" Sadeen says as she practically wells up with joy and excitement. George nods and he gives a slight smirk to Stella. She takes his hand and she leads him back upstairs. Sadeen giggles as I push her out of the door.
My teal Cadillac Eldorado sits like a horse without a jockey. Majestic and triumphant. I duck into the drivers seat and Sadeen gets in the back. I hear the sound of her buckling her seatbelt. I don't understand why she gets in the back every time. If I gave her a car seat she'd probably sit in that too. I turn on the radio. It makes a static sound at first, but as I turn the dial a song comes on. Words of Love by Buddy Holly comes on, one of Sadeen's favorite songs. I crank up the dial as Sadeen starts to sing. We then pull out of the driveway and we are on our way to Ray's.
