My spirits raised a bit, my whimpering going silent. "But-!" I shrunk back a little. "You have to stay by my side. And you gotta listen when I tell you to do something- okay?" I came out from behind the pillar, nodding and wiping my face. I walked back over to him, still slightly trembling, looking down, upset with myself for reacting the way I had. He gave a short sigh, then walked over to me, pulling me into a secure hug. I flinched lightly, then relaxed into his grip, hugging him back.
I closed my eyes, forcing myself to stop crying and trembling. "It's okay kid..." He sighed softly, running a paw through my hair. I shivered lightly, relaxing more, no longer having to force myself to relax, my face drying from my tears. "We'll... uh-... figure something out..." "I don't... care... Ju-ust don-n't sen-nd me back-k.... Pl-lea-ase-" He sighed nervously, not responding for a few seconds, getting me a bit worried by his lack of reassurance.
I hid it, however, just happy to be with him again. I nuzzled his fur lightly, hugging him a bit tighter. Freddy would clear his throat softly before stating, "Well, let's get out of this room... Why don't we go to the hotel and get your room set up? Mm-?" I nodded quickly, a bit excited now. He chuckled quietly, picking me up. I squeaked softly, not expecting to be grabbed, wriggling a bit out of instinct.
He carefully placed me on his shoulders, compensating for the bit of a struggle, holding onto my legs with his left paw. I soon relaxed again, sitting comfortably on his shoulders. I sighed, deciding to gently pet his ears. They went down for a second as he made a sound of surprise, but moments later, his ears went back up. I took this as a symbol of, 'you can still pet me-'. I returned to petting him with a soft giggle. Thoughts still nagged me, like, why was he crying before? Or at least... I assumed they were tear-stains.
He reached down, grabbing my back-pack, sliding one of the straps onto his right shoulder. He had plenty of room for it and me, reminding me of how stupid short I still was. "You alright up there?" His right ear twitched, reminding me that I was petting him before. "Mhm!" I mustered all the excitement I had, forcing myself back into the proper 'mood'. Petting him again. He gave a quiet sigh, his ears relaxing as I stroked their fur, surprised at how fluffy he really was.
He carried me to the door, it hissed open almost magically. I was hit with a cold breeze, causing me to shiver lightly, curling up a bit so Freddy would block the breeze. He carried me outside of the portal cave area, and I was shocked by the change in scenery since the last time I'd visited, though that felt like forever ago now. Freddy glanced at the big building, his ears laying back slightly as he wobbled a bit in his steps towards the main part of the park.
"Are.. you okay... Freddy?" "Mm-! Yeah-" he stopped looking towards the large building, walking a steadier pace to the door. I knew something was up... I just didn't know what. Although, I was certain about something. A lot had happened in both places since the last time I'd... been here.
