He walked into the main part of the park, the door opening, then whirring as it closed behind us. I still shivered lightly, probably mostly because I'd been outside in the cold for hours. I sniffled lightly, slightly annoyed because of my runny nose from the cold. "We'll be at the hotel in a few minutes. Then I can get you nice and warmed up.... Hmm, how does some hot cocoa sound?" I bounced slightly on his shoulders, my face lighting up as I gave him an excited, "Mhm!!" He chuckled lightly, continuing his steady pace.

I smiled, returning to petting him, his ears relaxing more. He hummed softly, carrying me past the circus tent. I listened happily, looking around, still shivering slightly. This place was so amazing... I really... loved it here. I never wanted to go back 'home'. Though... I would miss Mom-... My smile faded, thinking about how sad and scared she would be-. I felt my eyes begin to burn as tears formed in my eyes.

I continued to pet Freddy's ears, a few tears dripping down my cheeks, a small whimper escaping. I went silent, trembling lightly, hoping he hadn't heard me over his humming. His ears twitched lightly as he stopped in front of the fountain. I froze up a bit, fear and dread forming over me, a few more tears falling down my face. "Kid-?.... Are you alright?"

"Y-yeah-h...!! Just... Cold-" I tried to stop my trembling, wiping my tears with my jacket sleeve, holding in my whimpers. He tilted his head down slightly with a quiet sigh, then resumed walking, quickly bringing me inside, and then up the stairs. I sighed softly in relief, starting to warm up already because my body heat was no longer being blown away from me. He carried me down the right hallway, all the way to the last room.

He opened the door with the swipe of a room key. Then he pocketed the card, reaching up and lifting me off his head to stand on my own on the ground. He turned me towards himself with a soft but concerned look. "You can talk to me-... about anything, and I'll try to help... okay?" I nodded, hugging him with a small smile. "Mhm-!" I replied. He sighed softly, sounding still slightly concerned, but he hugged me firmly, nuzzling the top of my head, messing up my hair.

I giggled then whined playfully, "Nooo! Stapp!.. Mah hAir!" He chuckled lightly, continuing for a few seconds before stopping with a happy sigh. "Come on you goofball-" He chuckled again, then led me into the room. I looked around with a happy gasp. I flopped onto the far bed with a giggle, curling up on the bed, messing up the covers. I exclaimed, "This is so comfyyy!!!" I stretched out on the bed with a happy sigh. He replied..... Kind of hesitantly... his voice a bit shaky, "You-... like it-?" I looked at him- noticing he was avoiding looking around, just.... Staring at the ground.

"Yeah-!... F-Freddy-? A-are..... Are you okay?.." "Mm-hm!" He looked at me for a few seconds before stating, "I'm going to be right back, I'm going to go make your hot chocolate- k?" I nodded hesitantly as he quickly turned and left. I whined softly as I bounced on the bed half-heartedly. He was acting.... So weird.... I didn't understand. Did I do something wrong?!... I sat there, still on the bed, running through everything. Did I do something?... Say- Something? Was it my fault??

I whimpered softly before curling up on the bed, getting under the covers to warm up more. I continued to whimper quietly as I pulled the covers over my head. It was always my fault. It had to be. I curled up tighter, fighting back tears. No matter where I went, what I did, things would always fall apart. It had to be because of me. There was no explanation. I.... accepted it.

Freddy rushed downstairs, his ears laid back, feeling tears threaten to form. How was he going to tell the kid?!..... He couldn't even tell a full-grown adult what had happened.... He quickly busied himself with making the hot cocoa. He didn't have to tell the kid.... He didn't need to know. He hadn't even met their Br-.... mm-. Why make the kid worry?... There was no reason to. It... was done and over with. Nothing they could do. He finished making the drink with a soft sigh, walking slowly back up the steps.
