(( Really sorry to all the readers for the late update ; VV ; I've been held back by school activity for a while now, so I've only had the time now to update it. For that, I'm really sorry !

Also, I'll be skipping out on the dialogue between Yukiko and the male gangster / kidnapper because while it does hold some significance in the development of all the characters in the manga, I'm holding the assumption that those who read this fanfiction have already read the original manga, and having to read all that in word form will no doubt be quite boring too o 3 o //

Hence, I'll be giving that a miss, and instead, try to improve with developing Shiro instead so she doesn't become too much of a flat character ! Thank you for your understanding !! o v o ))

" Even if you scream and cry, no one would come to rescue you. "

The male sneered as a force struck my cheek, sending me crashing into a pile of broken chairs and empty beer bottles. As I fell, I squeezed my eyes shut as the distinct sound of shattering glass reached my ears, followed by a sharp stinging pain which seemed to be appearing all at once.

" That's what's gonna happen to you if you think ya' gonna escape again. Ya' our big fishes, ya know ? We couldn't let you guys leave us so easily. "

I tasted a familiar liquid on the insides of my mouth and swallowed it, maintaining my rebellious glare at the one who had struck me. The movies and comics would always show such characters defiantly spitting the blood at their ' kidnappers ' feet, but I was sure I'd somehow mess it up and dirty my own uniform instead, even though it was already dirty in the first place.

Besides, if one was going to fight, I had been taught that one should at least try to do it with some semblance of grace.

" Since we're going to play, then it's best to have a big audience, isn't it ? We've called some buddies of ours over, and we're going to set up a commemoration photo too. So let's have a real good time, messing shit up. "

For a first, it would be important to ascertain where we were.

Halfway through the journey, they began to blindfold us, putting earmuffs over our ears so we wouldn't be able to tell a thing, should they happen to be so careless and speak of some piece of important information. So we had sat there, in silence, with our hands and feet bound as our bodies jumped along with the constant rocking of the vehicle as it traversed over some bumpy roads, though there were parts where the ride had been relatively smooth.

Certainly, it had amused and surprised me to see how prepared they had been. If one were to infer anything from such, if any at all, then it was likely that this wasn't the first time they were doing such an act.

How despicable.

The human heart, which gave birth to these ugly emotions ...

if only there weren't any humans on this Earth.

" How depressing.  "

The words slipped out from my mouth before I even recognized they were my own.

" Whaddya' say ? "

" Shiro ! "

Voices filled with worry rang from the other end of the room, where Kayano and Yukiko were seated and bound, similar to myself except that the restraints binding my ankles had been cut free but not theirs. In fact, it just came to me that the reason I found myself in my current situation would be because I had immediately kicked one of them ... in a certain painful region.
