" My name is Shiro, Shiro Fukuya. Please take care of me. "

" She's the new transfer student from Class A, she's a few years younger than you all so don't bully her too much alright, " the man standing next to me droned on impassively as I fiddled with the dagger behind my back. Towards my left was the ' target ', some yellow octopus-like creature about 3-metres tall with a large round head like that of a bowling ball's, on which were two small beady eyes and a large, slightly unnerving smile.

" But Karasuma-sensei, if she's in Class A, why was she transferred here ? I mean, we are the E-as-in-end-class, no student in their right mind would willingly come here, would they ? " A hand shot up.

" The chairman was the one who arranged for it, if you're so curious then why not you go ask him yourself. Any other questions ? " Silence. " Looks like there's nothing then, she'll be a part of your class from now on, a temporary one but a student nonetheless. I'll be going now since there isn't anything else of importance. "

" Alright, why not we welcome the new student ? You're going to frighten her if all you do is keep staring at her, you know ? " the octopus-creature made its way over on its bright yellow tentacles, making a clapping noise with the protrusions on its two feelers as the class began to follow his lead, although some of them were still glaring at me. They had been from the moment I walked into this classroom, and was introduced as the Chairman's adopted daughter, the atmosphere had turned drastically into one of complete hostility.

" Please address me as Korosensei, as that is the name the students have given me. Feel free to take any of the seats in the back row since they're unoccupied for the time being, "

" What's a student from the main faculty building doing here ? "

" Do you think she'll slow us down in our assassination attempts ? "

" Since she's younger than us, can she even catch up with the syllabus being taught here ? "

" She looks really arrogant, she's probably like all the others in Class A, looking down on us since we're in Class E. "

The usual questions, as I had been told to expect by the Chairman.

" We'll be starting lessons now, please everyone, be quiet. "

You must be wondering ? How did someone such as myself get into such a situation ?

To be honest, I don't know myself. Though since that man had told me to, it would only be apt for me to follow his orders as usual, wouldn't it ?

" The reward for a successful assassination is 10 billion yen. "

Besides, 10 billion wasn't a small amount.

Surveying the octopus-crea... no, Korosensei, there didn't seem to be anything especially startling about him that drew your attention. Other than he was a bright yellow and was wearing a black academic dress with an academic cap on his head, though I suppose even alien creatures would feel the need to dress themselves with something, and he was a teacher after-all, albeit a weird one.

The man earlier, Karasuma-sensei, or so he had been called had briefed me on this creature which had a maximum speed of Mach 20 and could go to the North Pole to collect ice for his daily meal of shaved ice just as easily as how one would walk to a convenience store. This creature, teaching Physics, was the one whom had the power of destroying 70% of the moon, turning it into little more than a single waning crescent and had vowed to destroy the world by March next year if he was not successfully killed.

" Shiro, you don't seem to be listening to the lesson. Would you come up here and answer this question on the blackboard ? " Korosensei tapped sharply on the blackboard with a stout piece of chalk. I ran my thumb along the dagger's blade, a weapon made of some material which was harmless to humans but apparently, destructive to that octopus-creature. To test out that Mach 20 speed of his, perhaps now would be a good chance.

But how would I go about it ?

Frontal attacks were sure to be no good, he would likely have perceived the attack coming and be able to escape from it before I could even bring the blade down.

What about sneak attacks then ? I had heard from the students during homeroom about another student's failed sneak attempt on him, Karma, this was interesting, it surely would benefit to do some more research into it.

" Shiro ? "

" Ah ... yes, I'm sorry, " making my way to the front of the classroom, I had snapped the blade in the heat of the moment and had it now concealed in my right palm, I definitely hadn't expected that thing to be so fragile. Should I act naturally then ? Do the question just as any other student would and grab the chance should it offer itself.

I took the chalk and began writing.

Taking note of all the assassination attempts on him from now on would likely prove useful, the methods he used to defend himself as well. That way, I would probably be able to avoid making the same mistake the others already had.

" Enn ... good job Shiro. Looks like you were listening during the lesson, good job. "

Using one of his feelers to pat my head warmly. Praising me.

" Korosensei, you shouldn't touch your students so casually, " with the small shard of the blade between my fingers, I flicked my wrist just as he reached for the chalk in my hand, bringing it upwards, feeling little resistance as its arm dropped to the ground with a loud disgusting plop, leaving behind a clean cut where it had been severed.

There was no kindness in the world I lived in.

" I will .. be the one who will take your life, sensei. "
