Season Two
"...another body has been found in the same region of Seoul as all of the others. We haven't had much information from the police about this yet other than the fact all of the murders follow a similar pattern, meaning it is likely the work of a serial kille-" The TV screen turned black all of a sudden.
You were laying on your side on the sofa with one arm dangling off the sofa, the remote control held loosely in your clutch. You blinked for a few seconds, realising the news broadcast had been turned off. You looked up to see Jungkook stood infront of it with his arms crossed across his chest, obviously agitated but trying to be reasonable.
"Y/n, do you really think keeping up with all the murders going on at the moment is a good idea? Even though the whole thing with Tae-" You cut him off before he could finish.
"Don't say his name. It turns my fucking guts." You visibly gagged as the images of Jungkook in the basement came up in your mind. It was still so vivid, as if it had happened yesterday. But it hadn't, it had been five years and you still couldn't get it out of your head. Therapy had had no effect. Moving in with Jungkook had helped a little as you had both been through the experience, albeit on different sides of the coin.
On top of that, you felt horrible for living off of Jungkook and his money. You felt pitiful for not being able to move on when you weren't even the one that had been tortured in a basement for weeks on end.
"Sorry, I forgot. I, um, I don't want to push you but do you maybe think it might be time for you to get a job? You don't have to if you don't want to and I have more than enough money to keep us both living a comfy life but maybe seeing people everyday would help you get back to normal?" Jungkook was the CEO of a big gaming company in South Korea, he had been promoted to the position at a very young age due to the talent and determination the previous CEO had seen in him.
You knew he was being reasonable and usually you would simply scoff at his words and turn the TV back on. However, you knew he was right. It had been five years and you had been hidden away almost the entire time, apart from the odd outing to try and club and drink your pain away. You needed to integrate back into normal society to try and live a normal life.
"Okay, I'll look online or something. I'll figure something out. It's been more than long enough and if you can get back to work so can I." You sighed and turned onto your back, staring up at the paint brush patterns imprinted on the ceiling. After everything with Taehyung, you fell into an incredibly deep depression and Jungkook had saved you from yourself countless times.
It had also caused paranoia to spike through your entire being constantly, never knowing if Taehyung could be out of prison and break into the house. You hadn't taken care of your health at all and on the odd occasion you left the house you would catch the first virus you came across and be unwell for weeks. Half of the time your hair was matted and greasy from not having the energy to shower. You knew you had to try and recover at some point and couldn't keep procrastinating it every time it was brought up.
Jungkook was still stood infront of the TV, staring at you as if he was waiting patiently for you to notice him. Your head flopped to the side so you could look at him and you raised your eyebrows as if to ask what else he wanted to say. He understood perfectly, having to get used to understanding minor facial expressions and gestures so he could communicate with you when you went for days without saying a word.
"I was actually thinking that maybe you could come and work for me? Before you say no! It would mean I could make sure you're safe at all times and I can keep an eye on you through the day. It would put both of our minds at peace as I'm worried to let you out of my sight after you being here and safe for so long. And you would know you're safe because my security would keep anyone remotely sketchy away, omus they already know what Ta- 𝘩𝘦 looks like from the news. I can make sure you get home safely as well. If you really think about it, it's more for my benefit than it is for yours."
He always had known how to get around you. You hated taking things from people or doing things you thought would burden them and you felt like being and Jungkook's company meant you would just be a burden all of the time and he would constantly have to watch over you like a bird. However, his rambling had confused your brain to the point of accepting his point.
"Okay. If that's what you really want." You sighed and stared back up at the ceiling. You saw Jungkook do a little victory dance out of the corner of your eye, causing your lips to tilt up ever so slightly. It was the first time you had remotely smiled in the past few days after your failed attempt at trying to be intimate with another person. Believe it or not, you hadn't really had much action after Taehyung and it was beginning to get incredibly frustrating. Maybe going to work would be a welcome distraction?

The day you were supposed to begin working at Jungkook's company began with a glass of cold water being thrown on you by the man himself. You had slept past your alarm and, apparently, his idea of a kind and gentle wake up call was lobbing ice cold water at your sleeping form. You whined and stared over at him with mild anger in your face while he doubled over laughing at his little prank. You were too tired to do anything so you just rolled out of bed and flopped onto the floor, only causing Jungkook to laugh even more.
Eventually, the two of you got ready and left for the company. Jungkook had made you his personal secretary as a way to make sure you were always close to him. Everything ended up running really smoothly and you got along with the others working there quite well.
The longer you stayed on at the company, the more life seemed to blend from complete despair and hopelessness into hope that the future could be brighter and you could learn to live with what had happened.
You had even managed to make a few close friends in your time there, which meant you would go out a little more often as you had people to meet and have fun with. It was more than you could have thought of or wished for after what a mess you had been not so long ago.
However, the paranoia never left you. You always felt like you were being watched. You understood the feeling at work seeing as Jungkook always kept an eye on you and there were CCTV cameras everywhere. The more startling thing was how you felt like someone was speaking through the bushes whenever you walked home alone.
Usually, you would just stay till Jungkook left but he had been insisting on you learning to be independent again. The feeling was just so unnerving and you could have sworn you heard bushes rustling a few times. You had gotten into the habit of basically sprinting back. However, at some point running just isn't enough, especially when your demons begin to catch up to you.
