S1: Hyung, Can You Read Me A Story?
With the articles circulating, comments that are scrolled down to for each video, and many more, one of the most known things about Ash is, he is a choreographer. His story that began with a few steps and shining passion was what made him eligible to be an NCT member.
Besides this could be his soft boy-like visuals. Something that wasn't too painted and too captured in people's minds. Yet when focused on, is a glimpse of angel-like and a real-life book character. The best friend, the cute boy next door, the reliable second lead, and many more.
All these are significant to who Ash is. Of course, this is the side that people see first and may not be the truest, yet the first glance nonetheless. The maknae, Jisung, saw this first too. But as time passed by and as his heart unconsciously made space for Ash, this wasn't the puzzle piece he fit into.
To Jisung, Ash was his hyung who told stories so beautifully. He foretold them with a language he seems to learn again every time he reads his hyung's work or when he hears the tell tales. The voice that only spoke a few lines, yet was the ones that Jisung brought with him every day.
His hyung was his storyteller that he'd always wish to read and hear more from.
Yes, he was the youngest in a group of how many digits. He was taken care of. Always could run to a place of embrace and warmth. Always someone to hear him. Always someone to look out for him. But the practices of how one teaches children of course stopped when he grew up. But it didn't make him any less of their maknae.
Yet he could never stop asking Ash to tell him stories, poems, excerpts, and anything that Ash is willing to tell him. He would ask every night if he could, but with their schedule, he didn't ask that much. But he recorded Ash's voice when he told him stories. Then at night, he was far away from his hyung, when the phone couldn't bridge him to the boy who brought him to other dimensions, he would listen to the recordings.
So when there were moments wherein there was time. When the clock wasn't on them and the fairytale wouldn't end with something lost, he still asks Ash to read to him. Read him what his older brother wrote so beautifully. Even the shortest of scenarios.
"Hyung, can you read me a story?"
Whether it be daylight when the sun takes over for the moon. Or in the afternoons, when rest was what their bodies wanted from a day of giving more than a revolution of themselves. Or at nights, when slumber was welcoming them through cold beds that missed them.
He would always spare a minute to listen to his storyteller.
S2: Asking Ash to cook for him
The youngest of 127 knew a bit about cooking. He knew enough to sustain himself but that would never be enough for him to cook for his members. He would just want to give them his best, even if it's just the best as of the moment. So he, without the secret-spilling from his lips, learned to cook well. When he garnered the standards he set for himself, that was the only time he cooked for others.
