Growth Spurt

It all happened overnight. No one knew how it was possible because there was no clue to this discovery the next day. You may ask what exactly is this discovery? Well, it was the kids getting taller.

The boys just recently did NCT 2018 and it all left them busy. 2019 was no joke and having subunits prepare for a comeback got them all hectic. So to see each and every member in one room was once in a blue moon but a great experience. It allowed the members to catch up with one another and it reminded them how they are just one group in the end.

Almost all the members were in the dressing room trying out their outfits. There were teasings here and there for all, but most decided to also target NCT Dream as they were the young members. Although Asher was not part of Dream, the others treated him as an honorary member as his age should've included him in the lineup. We'll never know why he wasn't added but we could always dream. 7Dream ft. Ash, that would be so cute.

"Our boys have really grown up. Especially with their new song," Johnny was teasing the younger members. The younger members were wincing at their hyungs comments and it left them all in a laughing mess. Although some Dream members were still not used to not having Mark on the same stage with them. It was weird.

The members of NCT 127 were in their outfits for Highway to Heaven with the exception of Haechan. The boy was still in his outfit for Boom as NCT Dream would be performing first. "Well hyung, at least we also grew taller." The savage reply from Renjun made the older members fake square up to the younger boys. It was true though, as the Dream members had grown taller and it left some of the older members stumped.

"Don't worry Renjun, Haechan, and Asher are still smaller." The little jab left Renjun and Haechan's fake attack Yuta. But it all just ended with laughter. Although Asher wasn't there to defend himself really. Where was he? Asher, Taeyong, and Mark were called in earlier by the company for some fixes and it left the boys quite late. So they were still presumed to be changing until the door to the lounge opened.

"I refuse you for you to grow Ash!" The voice of their leader was the first thing heard yet Mark entered first. But it seemed the boy was also invested in the conversation among the three. Hearing this, the other boys were listening to the conversation and waited for the other two boys to enter.

Taeyong entered first and still had his back against them until he turned. "Yesterday, Ash was still our small boy right?" The question brought snickers across the room but Doyoung answered. "In height? Probably."

Taeyong faked an angry huff as Asher entered. "Guess what? Our 127 maknae grew overnight!" This brought attention all to Ash. The boy stood straighter as he noticed the attention all on him and was surprised when he was dragged.

Taeyong pulled Ash next to him and that was when it became very noticeable. Ash was taller than Taeyong. He was an inch or taller than Taeyong and it made the others fake panic. It caused Jeno and Jaemin to rise from where they sat and tugged Ash to them.

When they all stood next to each other, it was Yuta who gasped loudly. "He's taller than both of you!" That brought the other members fussing over Ash who was still silent but a small smile resided on his face.

He let them fuss over him before he was dragged by a stylist who decided to change his outfit and caused him to leave the room.

"Puberty is just so unfair. How come it treats the younger members so kindly," Taeil muttered beside Jaehyun who looked at him and patted the older boy's head. Which caused the older to glare at Jaehyun who just smirked and gave him a wink.

The boys were discussing Ash's growth spurt overnight when the boy entered. His attire caused the other members to gasp and act more dramatic than ever. "Ash, Ash! You cannot attack us with all this in one day!" It was Jungwoo who said it in a tiny text that left the said boy to just shrug and sit beside him.

Of course, they continued to fuss over him until their performance. They were dramatic of course and Ash can't help but just smile at all this nonsense. Everything that came with NCT, chaos, drama, exhaustion was worth it for a family even as dramatic as this.
