Chapter 10

You were running through the hall trying to find Jojo before anything bad could happen. As you turned a corner, you saw that the ape was approaching Jojo, who was pinned down by pipes emerging from the wall. Your eyes widened and you felt yourself start to panic. Think (Y/N). Come on, think! "Hey, ugly!" You cringed. Seriously?! That's the best you could think of! The ape turned and you tried to think of something else. The ape crushed what looked like a rubik's cube in his hand with a seriously pissed off look and you gulped. Now what genius? "Oi!" The ape turned back to Jojo, visibly annoyed. "This isn't part of your stupid stand, is it?" Jojo said and you watched a button go flying and hit the monkey square in the face. He wailed and started rolling on the floor; Jojo was freed from the pipes and stretched his arms a bit. The ape opened his shirt and exposed his chest as Jojo took a step towards him. "I heard that when animals get scared, they show their stomach as an act of submission. Are you giving up?" The ape nodded quickly. "Not so tough now, huh?" You commented. "Tch. You've crossed the line one too many times, so no." And with that, the ape was sent flying and appeared to be getting absolutely pummeled. The ship began to groan and alter shape. "Oh shit." Jojo grabbed your hand. "We need to get back to the life boats!" You took a step forward but stopped. "Anne! She's still in the showers! Jojo let go!" You tried to pry your hand free but his grip was like iron. "I'll go get her, (Y/N). You need to get to the boat." You kept trying to free your hand and groaned in frustration. "She won't trust you! I have to do it! We don't have time to fight!" "(Y/N)-" You huffed in frustration. "Sorry, Jojo." He gave you a look before you bit down on his hand. "Ow! What the hell!" You sprinted back towards the bathroom and saw Anne huddled in a corner. "Anne, let's go! Now!" She grabbed your hand and you both sprinted towards the stairs leading above deck. The entryway at the top of the stairs was slowly getting smaller and you had to make a choice. "Get to the boats!" You yelled and used all your strength to throw Anne through the doorway. "(Y/N)!" She screamed and was vanishing from view when you saw grip indents on the sides of the doorway and it slowly opened up, as if someone was pulling apart. Jojo's head popped into view and you sighed in relief. He grabbed the collar of your shirt, yanked you up, and carried you as he ran to the boats. You saw everyone at the bottom of the stairs rushing you along and Jojo jumped the last few steps and into the lifeboat before the ship completely collapsed. You and Jojo sat and tried to catch your breath. "(Y/N)! Are you alright?" "Ma cherie, thank goodness you're alright!" "Are you alright?" Everyone started bombarding you with questions and you waved everyone back as you pulled out of Jojo's grip and sat up against the boat. "I'm fine, I'm fine. I promise." "You are the stupidest woman I have ever met." Jojo said between breaths." "Jotaro, that's no way to speak to a woman!" You smacked his shoulder. "If I hadn't distracted that ape when I did, you would have been fish food! Or ship food? I don't really know, but the point is that I saved your ass back there. And I couldn't leave Anne!" "Yeah, thanks (Y/N). I knew you wouldn't just leave me." "It was reckless." You were about to respond when Anne cut in. "Look, as much as we all want to watch you love birds fight... we're stranded! Again!" You glared at her. "Anne, we're not-" "She's right. We need to find a way to get some help." Avdol said and you crossed your arms. "Good grief. My cigarettes are wet." "They're not good for you anyways." Jojo gave you a look and you stuck your tongue out at him before leaning back and closing your eyes.

You were eventually rescued and landed in Singapore. "Alright. We need to find a place to rest and come up with a plan. I have a feeling the stands Dio's sending will only get stronger." You heard a whistle followed by yelling, so you turned and saw a guy in a uniform approaching your group. "Hey you! Flat top!" You tried to stifle a laugh and Polnareff pointed at himself. "Me?" "Yes you. Is that your litter you just threw on the ground?" "No, what? I didn't throw any litter on the ground." "I just watched you! That's a $500 fine!" "But he didn't throw any litter on the floor, sir." Kakyoin says. "Then what's that!" The man points to Polnareff's bag on the ground. "My luggage?" At this point you can't keep your laugh contained and you have to walk away from the group. "It's not that funny, madam!" Polnareff says as he approaches you and you clear your throat. "Sorry, Polnareff. I think I'm just running on fumes at this point from the lack of sleep, so almost everything is way funnier than it actually is." "Well why didn't you say so! I can carry you!" You backed up and chuckled awkwardly. "No, that's okay! Let's just hurry up and find a place so I can take a nap." "Hey, didn't you say you were meeting your father here?" Everyone looked at Anne. "We're not meeting for another 5 days! I can do whatever I want!" "Maybe she doesn't have the money to find somewhere to stay. We could get an extra room for her?" "Sure, why not." Polnareff wrapped his arm around Anne, who cringed and tried to shove his arm off. "Today's you're lucky day, freeloader. Since you're probably stinking poor, you can stay with us until we leave!" You frowned at Polnareff's choice of words and stole a glance Jojo's way. You locked eyes for a few seconds before he looked away and adjusted his hat over his face; you looked forward again. "Alright group! Let's get going to the hotel!" Mr. Joestar said and you all made your way down the street, oblivious to the eyes staring you down.
