Chapter 26

You sat next to Kakyoin and made sure he was eating; he refused to let you heal his arm and was still freaked out. You looked to your left and saw Jotaro staring up at the night sky for a few moments before returning to camp and sitting on the rock next to Polnareff. You forced Kakyoin to take another bite and could feel Jotaro staring into the side of your head. You put your bowl down and sighed. "Kakyoin, I really think you need to let me find the dream. If I can-" He grabbed your dish off the ground before standing up and walking away. You frowned and Jotaro took a seat beside you. "What's wrong with him." "I don't know." You looked at Jotaro. "He said he had a bad dream but doesn't remember and he won't let me try and find it in his head. And he's bleeding but he won't let me heal him." "Where is he bleeding." "His left arm. Jotaro, he carved words into his arm but his knife is clean and he has no memory of doing that. I'm worried." You rested your forehead on his shoulder and felt him tense a bit. "(Y/N), what did the words say?" You sighed. "I don't know what they mean but they said-" "Did you see that?! The baby killed a scorpion! In the blink of an eye with the safety pin!" You looked over and saw Kakyoin was pointing to the baby's basket. You watched as Kakyoin and Mr. Joestar checked the baby and the basket but there was nothing. Kakyoin then tried to grab the baby. "Kakyoin. That's enough." Mr. Joestar said and both you and Jotaro approached him. "You're tired. We'll talk in the morning when you've calmed down." "Come on, Kakyoin. Why don't we-" You placed your hand on his arm but he slapped it away. Everyone's eyes widened and Jotaro stepped forward. "Oi, Kakyoin. I don't know what you're deal is but-" "Jotaro, it's okay. I'm sure it was an accident." Kakyoin grabbed his head and walked off. Jotaro gently grabbed your hand and you both returned to the rock and sat down. "Are you okay? That's the second time he's hit you." You frowned. "He's not doing it on purpose. Besides, I'm more concerned with him. If I don't get inside his head, he's gonna crack." You both talked a little longer when Kakyoin smacked the spoon out of Mr. Joestar's hand. "I'm sure of it now! I don't know where he hid the spoon, but he's a Stand User! And I have the very thing to prove it!" You watched as he rolled up his sleeve and revealed the words carved into his arm. "Look! This has to be a warning! I must have gotten it in my sleep." Jotaro stood up. "Did you do that to yourself?" "K-Kakyoin, you've finally..." "oh my god." You quickly stood up. "Wait! Just Listen!" You said and ran up to his side. "Kakyoin's had that since we got off the plane. I  noticed his arm was bleeding on the plane but I couldn't check it out until earlier. Just-" "(Y/N), step away from him." You stared in shock at Mr. Joestar. "Did you listen to a word I just said!" "If you won't hand the baby over, I'll have to use force." You stared at Kakyoin. "What?" "Hierophant Green!" He called his Stand forward to attack the baby. You went to grab him but Polnareff knocked you to the side as he used his Stand to hit Kakyoin on the head. You watched as Kakyoin fell to the ground unconscious. You crawled toward him but Jotaro picked you up; you squirmed in his grip. "Let me go, Jotaro!" "No." He carried you under his arm as he grabbed the sleeping bags and laid them out before dropping you down on your sleeping bag. "That was rude you know." "I don't care." "But this is my chance to get into his head and-" "No." "Why not?!" "Just leave him alone for the night. He just needs to sleep it off." You frowned at him and grumbled as you got under your sleeping bag and faced away from him. "Really?" You didn't respond to him. "Good grief." He muttered as he got into his sleeping bag and stared at you. "Stop staring." "No." You went to move your sleeping bag away but he wrapped his arm around you and pulled you closer. "You're staying here. I know you'll run off to Kakyoin." He whispered and you felt a chill run up your spine as his breath fanned across your neck. You slapped his arm but knew it was no use, so you decided to just wait until everyone fell asleep.

You had just started dozing off when Jotaro's grip on you tightened. You frowned and tried to loosen his grip but it only tightened and it was starting to hurt. "Jotaro. Let go." You whispered and moved a bit but it was no use. You managed to roll over so you were facing him and he looked like he was having a nightmare. You looked over his shoulder and noticed the others appeared to be having nightmares too. You covered your mouth as you saw the baby sitting there eating and laughing away, but its laugh was off putting. Kakyoin was right. The baby is a Stand User and its stand must be able to only work in dreams. But I can't get to the baby because Jotaro's grip is too tight. You quietly laid back down and decided you would have to enter their dreams to help them. Fortuna came forward and both of you placed your hands on either side of Jotaro's face. As soon as your foreheads connected you were dragged into what looked like an amusement park. You looked around and finally found the guys, but they were on their knees before the Stand; Polnareff's hair was tied around a few poles, Jotaro's chain was wrapped around his neck, and Mr. Joestar's hand was huge now. The only one missing was Kakyoin. "A Stand is spiritual energy. And dreams are the spirit unguarded! Death 13 has surrounded that unguarded spirit, and that's why you can't summon your Stands!" You slowly crept around to the left and hid behind a bush. "Now give me a scream! One that symbolizes how happy and refreshed I feel at my easy victory!" You saw Hierophant Green emerge behind the Stand and grab it's shoulder. "Lali-...ho?" "Lali-ho." "Oh it's a fake I made." It flicked Hierophant in the face before Hierophant wrapped its hands around his neck. "W-what! That's not a fake!" The restraints on the group went back to normal. "It's Kakyoin!" You saw Kakyoin was lounging in a teacup. "Before you knocked me out, I already had my Stand summoned. I hid him underground before I fell asleep. Now..." Kakyoin stood up. "It's time for your punishment, baby." You watched as Death 13 flailed around. "Stop! If you keep moving, your neck will snap." "Kakyoin!" The group ran towards him and you figured this would be the best chance you had. "Fortuna!" You called out as you stood. Death 13 stared at you. "W-what? Impossible!" "Dreams are also the pathway between the subconscious and the conscious! And I can enter the subconscious!" You smirked and your Stand emerged just as the clouds circled above the two and grabbed the scythe out of death 13's hand. You reached out and just as the cloud swung, Fortuna flew up grabbed the wrist of the cloud's hand. "Wait, that's..." You groaned as your Stand strained against the cloud. "(Y/N)!" "KAKYOIN HURRY UP AND GET HIM!" You yelled just as Hierophant Green entered the stand through its ears. "W-what? My hand is moving on its own!" Death 13's hand grabbed the scythe and the cloud disappeared. You sighed and Fortuna returned to your side. "Now, if you don't want to be destroyed from the outside-in, this is what you're going to do." Kakyoin winked at you and you smirked before pulling yourself out of the dream. You looked around and noticed the sun was beginning to rise but everyone was still sleeping. You somehow got out of Jotaro's grip just as Kakyoin woke up. You stood up and helped him stand before giving him a hug. "I'm so glad you're alright! I'm sorry nobody believed you!" He chuckled and you pulled back. "It's alright. You helped out big time, so I think we're even. I do have a favor to ask of you though." He said as he held up his arm. "Oh right." You grabbed it and healed it before anyone else woke up. "Let's make breakfast, shall we?"

As Kakyoin finished the last of breakfast you walked around waking everyone up. "Wake up! Get up! It's time for breakfast!" You nudged Polnareff with your foot and he grumbled. You then walked to Jotaro and shook him. "Get up, sleeping beauty." He frowned as he woke up and stared at you. You smirked and walked over to Mr. Joestar but he was already up. They began getting themselves cleaned up and you and Kakyoin shared a knowing look. "I think I had a bad dream. I don't remember it, but I feel like it was terrifying." Mr. Joestar said before Polnareff ran over to Kakyoin, who was making breakfast for the baby. "Are you okay? You were out of it last night and your arm- Huh?!" You bit the inside of your cheek to keep from laughing as you rolled up the sleeping bags. "What's so funny?" You looked up and saw Jotaro staring at you. "Oh nothing, Jojo. Just a funny dream I had." You laughed to yourself. "You didn't get up last night did you?" You stood up and smirked. "No. But you need to losen up a bit! You're so tense, even when you're sleeping! You almost crushed me last night!" He adjusted his hat over his face and you smiled. "Nothing to be embarrassed about, Jojo." You teased. "Well if you weren't always getting into trouble, I could relax." You frowned and chucked a sleeping bag at him. He caught it and you heard him chuckle, causing you to blush. "It's nothing to be embarrassed about, (Y/N)." He said with a smirk and you chucked another sleeping bag at him.
