She sent the message to Ariana, stating how she needed more time to investigate and to find out more about her “target” before she strike. That should give her at least a week or two. It should give her enough time to find the asshole who got her into this mess and rid her life of the SilverMoon pack for good.

Giving out fake, cheery goodbyes to the mailmen and women, Valerie stepped out of the post office and right into Marcus‘ chest, she took a quick couple of steps back, shocked by his sudden appearance.

Couldn’t this guy leave her alone for a second? She asked for a good hour or 2, she barely left him 30 minutes ago. Clingy much?

Valerie growled a warning as he grabbed her forearm and started pulling her towards the Alpha’s home. She didn’t want to cause a scene so she matched his stride with her own, making it seem like they were going on a stroll, arm in arm. To make it more convincing, she pressed her body closer to his and placed her other hand on his arm. She smiled when she felt him tensed from the closeness.

The electricity flowing from the touch was amazing, she almost moaned from the contact, but Valerie knew better than to show any weakness. Especially now, when her life was in her “companion’s” hands.

Once they were out of ear shot of the onlookers and passers-bys, he started talking.

“Magnus wants to see you.” He stated, his voice masking the desire willing in his loin.

“Why?” Valerie questioned. She took her hand off from his arm and used it to push her sunglasses back up, since it was slightly slipping and let it rest by her side for the rest of the trip. Underneath, her blind eyes were covered by blue contacts, it was better to take precautions in case her sunglasses do fall off.

“He wants to meet the GrowlStone Pack’s ambassador.” Marcus stated simply, like it was the most common thing in the world.

“GrowlStone? Really? You couldn’t think of a better name?” She scoffed.

Marcus ignored her, “You have come down from the Northern borders as a form of friendship to show that you are no threat to the pack. Your “pack” is merely passing by and going to be on their way in 2 weeks. You are merely here to restock on supplies.”

“What if he asks about where my “pack” really is? Would he not look for them?”

“No, I’m the one who patrols the borders, usually I check on the Northern borders by myself.” He answered.

    “Usually?”

“From now on, until 2 weeks from now,  I will be patrolling the Northern borders, so no worries there.”

“So basically, I’m a peace offering until we find the person behind all of this?”

He nodded but quickly remembered that she was blind and was about  to respond with a yes before she held up her free hand to stop him from saying anything.

“Its fine, I know you nodded.” She stated simply before letting her hand fall back to its passive position.

He lifted one eyebrow in amazement, how did she know?

    “How?” He voiced his curiosity.

“The muscles in your arm changed slightly, they became more tensed, which usually indicates a nod or an attack. Since I know you won’t attack me, I took it as a nod.”
