Chapter 7
Noah’s POV
“-and she isn’t even that pretty, who does she think she is comin’ back to this town after all these years and bringin’ those rotten kids with her, I can’t wait till this weddin’ is over for her and her two mongrels can go back to wherever they came from,” Alana vented, throwing her arms around.
It’s been like this for the past hour, Alana has been in full bitching mode. I don’t know what Addison or those kids had done to her, but it couldn’t have been pretty to get her all worked up like this.
“Honey, you don’t know even know her kids,” I said trying to reason with her, but even I knew it was hopeless with her.
She turned to look at me with wide eyes and a snarl on her lip, “And you do?”
I shrugged one shoulder, “I’ve met them a few times,” I trailed off, digging my own grave.
“Then why don’t you go spend some more time with them Noah, when were you plannin’ on tellin’ me you’ve been hangin’ around her?” she spat.
I shrugged again. “Didn’t think it was necessary, and I was at my parent’s house and with Jason both times. It isn’t like I was with Addison directly, trust me neither Addison or myself wanted to be there, together.”
She pursed her lips, “What was she doing at your parents house?” she asked calmly, too calmly.
I sighed again, I hate fighting with Alana, yet it always happens. I never knew relationships were such hard work; it was never like this with me and Addison, things ran smoothly. “She was like a daughter to them, you know that.”
She sighed and flopped down on the couch, “I don’t want you seein’ them kids, or her for that matter.”
I don’t know why, but this gave me a sick feeling in my stomach, Mason and Madison have grown on me quite a bit. “Why do I have to stay away?”
Her eyes flashed with anger before she bolted upright, “Why? Why? Because I’m your fianceé Noah! You don’t question me, if I don’t want you seein’ them, then you don’t see them. And that’s final.”
I scoffed, “Are you sure you're my fianceé, or my mother? You know what, when you’ve calmed down, meet me at the BBQ at Jason’s place.”
With one final glance at Alana, I slammed the door of the apartment we shared and headed to Jason’s place. I don’t know why, but I felt so mad when Alana told me I couldn’t see Addison or her kids. They’re the kind of children who make your heart melt just by looking at them, but they look somewhat oddly familiar- maybe their father is someone I know. As I pulled up to Jason’s house, I noticed Addison’s car and groaned- I hope she leaves before Alana comes, but knowing my luck she won’t.
The back gate was already open and I could hear music and chatter coming from the backyard. I immediately noticed Addison, she was lying on the grass with the twins either side of her, and they were giggling like school girls. Even after having two children, her stomach is still as flat as anything. Her body matured as she got older, she got curver and her boobs had gotten fuller. I forced my eyes to look away as I noticed I was staring at her for far too long.
“Jason,” I said giving him the typical man hug.
“Noah, where’s Alana?” he shivered when he said his name, which caused him a punch in the shoulder. I knew everyone hated Alana, but I was happy- I think. And I loved her, so everyone elses opinion didn’t really matter.
