Warning: Bad Grammar Ahead
Chapter 13. The Harsh Lesson
"You want to what?"
The man in armor yelled, his calm and composed demeanor adorned by anger.
"Have you lost your minds?"
He inquired of the handsome crimson-haired knight standing in front of them.
The man didn't show any reaction to his brother in all but a blood-enraged expression and he briefly spared a glance at him. And he shows nothing in response. Just like him, he also does not show any emotion.
And that seems to enrage his knight... No, a former Knight, to be exact.Even if his face didn't show it, he knew it very well. He could read his emotions as clearly as day.
There is no way the man in front of him will serve him any further...
"With all respect, Lancelot, I don't lose my mind."
He replied to the Knight of the Lake stoically.
"As a matter of fact, for the first time I served our King, my mind opened."
On his side, Lancelot clenched his fist. The gauntlet that clad his hand groaned in protest under the pressure of his strength.
Lancelot: "Why Tristan?"
He inquired, no, demanded from his fellow Knight.
Tristan glanced at Lancelot, his eyes peering over the wielder of Arondight, before he shifted to him and he bowed his head.
Tristan: "In my whole life... I can say without doubt that serving Your Majesty is the greatest honor and glory."
He said, his voice solemn and calm.
Lancelot: "Then why? If you say that, then why do you still..."
Tristan: "Because life is not only about honor."
Tristan answered, his eyes meeting Lancelot's.
Tristan: "Honor is great, and as a Knight of the Round Table, I know that it was our foundation after all. But it is the foundation of being a Knight, not a human. "
While Lancelot seems struck by those words, he is not, because he already expected such a thing in the first place.
Tristan turned to him this time, and then he bowed his head respectfully.
Tristan: "You fight majestically and gracefully on the battlefield, and none can oppose you. You have led us in countless battles, but never once did we know defeat. Even in the face of Vortigern, where everything seemed lost, you proved to be able to create a miracle and bring victorious to us.
And I won't hesitate to admit that in my whole life there is no greater achievement than that. "
The fight against Vortigern begins...He knew well what he meant... That battle was a close one, very, very close. As a matter of fact, just like Tristan said, he himself is sure they won that battle because of Miracle.
