Eileen was seated at the war-room with Sam's laptop in front of her and Miracle by her side. She looked worried at Sam who was pacing nervously around the table while talking on his phone. Across the room, Crowley showed up leaning against the library entrance. Insouciant, he sipped tea from a delicate floral teacup.
– I've left you two alone for less than 16 hours and Squirrel got snatched? For Hell's sake, I'm outraged! - complained the demon.
– I have to go. - said Sam hastily putting down his phone and turning to Crowley - Tell me you can do something!
– I can do many things. - stated the former King of Hell - But I have no idea where your brother is, nor how we could possibly face an archangel immune to banishing sigils. Those bloody things work even with Lucifer!
Only a pair of steps from Dean, Raphael stopped. Carefully he pulled his pants legs up grabbing them near his knees and then crouched beside Claire. Still pinned to the wall, Dean struggled and huffed as he watched the archangel grabbing the girl's idle body by the shoulders.
– Get away from her. - the hunter growled.
Ignoring Dean, Raphael settled Claire in a sitting position with her back against the wall, leaned down to her ear and muttered a few words in Enochian. Soon after, he stood up again, still gazing at Claire for a moment, and then he finally faced Dean.
– Castiel, I have your human. - said the archangel.
After an almost imperceptible twitch at Raphael's emotionless face, Dean heard two loud snaps and muffled a grunt as an acute pain in his ribs expelled all the air from his lungs. Panting, he shut his eyes in anguish and rested his head against the wall for a moment, however, before he opened them back, he felt his stomach getting clawed from the inside out. This time, incapable of restraining himself, he howled in agony as the archangel expected.
Somehow, besides his thoughts being clouded by the aching and the warmth of his own blood flowing out of his abdomen, Dean remembered Castiel once, a long time ago, used an old vessel of Raphael, Donnie, to reach the archangel. It was a trap, just like this one, but he knew that wouldn't stop Cas from showing up anyway.
– How long do you think you will bear hearing him suffer, Castiel? - asked Raphael - Because I have no hurry at all and I'll keep this going. - concluded the archangel lowering his voice so the grisly gurgling sound of Dean choking on the blood now flowing from his mouth could be heard better.
