The moment Castiel and Sam reappeared at the bunker library, Claire darted a glance to them searching for Dean. Unable to find him, she strided across the room and hence dragged Kaia with her, since she had been refusing to let go of Claire's hand since she returned.
– Where's he? - demanded Claire.
– Dean's at a hospital. - informed Sam speaking softly as he pondered what else he could say without spreading panic.
– I couldn't heal him, nor bring him along. - interrupted Cas with a sorrowful look on his face causing the exact effect Sam was trying to avoid - That anti-supernatural sigil he carved in his chest blocks all my powers.
– But it was nothing too serious! - rushed the younger Winchester as the tension increased around the room - He just needs to recover a little so we can remove the ward and then Cas will be able to cure him.
– If you two are here, who's with him? - inquired Jody apprehensive.
– Crowley and Gabriel. - replied Sam fearful of the sheriff's annoyed-mother tone.
– Is this Crowley the resurrected demon you've told us about? - confirmed Donna looking bemused to Eileen who nodded to her assenting.
– And Gabriel is the archangel who's used them as bait! - added Jody furrowing her brow.
– I'm calling Chris! - declared Donna getting her phone from her pocket - He's near Los Angeles, he can go check on Dean. What's the hospital's name?
– Who's Chris? - questioned Castiel looking at Claire who shrugged showing she also, just like him, had no idea.
– He's a hunter. - clarified Kaia in a low voice - Donna helped him a few weeks ago with a vampire nest and now they're dating.
– Nice. - grinned Claire - I hope he doesn't break her heart or I'll rip his out. - she concluded with an ominous yet lovingly smile which unavoidably reminded Castiel of Dean.
– Where's Charlie and Stevie? - asked Sam, finally noticing their absence.
– Charlie found some uncanny omens in Australia, so she, Stevie and Balthazar went there to check them out. - explained Eileen.
– And Balthazar left you alone here? - protested Cas.
Sneaking in, Mrs Butters, a wood nymph who used to be the bunker's housekeeper, entered the library bringing a tray with sandwiches and juice. Seeing Sam, she smiled broadly and, after placing the snack over a table, she walked straight up to him.
– Sam, you look so tired, my dear. You should have a bite and take some rest. - the nymph declared - With my 'extra oomph' the bunker's wards are at full power again, henceforth you don't need to worry, no one can come in without my permission.
– As you can see, Balthazar didn't leave us unguarded. - chuckled Kaia looking at Cas who gazed at the nymph puzzled.
