Adora's POV~
I stayed for two hours at Bow and Glimmer's dorm until they kicked me out because they had afternoon shifts to help Angella. Glimmer's been doing it since she was 7 when her mom got the job, Bow decided to tag along for the last 3 years since he and Glimmer have been closer since then.
"Hey!" I heard someone call out from behind me. I turned around to see a girl full on sprinting towards me. She slowed down as she reached where I ended up standing, dumbfounded as to why she was running inside.
"What's up Lonnie? Where Rogelio?"
She put a finger up to show that she needed a minute as she bent over her knees to catch her breath.
"He's in class right now, have you seen Kyle at all? I misplaced him." She was barely able to complete the full sentence without gasping for air. She took Kyle under her wing in junior high when she saw someone bullying him. After that, she has taken care of Kyle and made sure he was okay. He's very shy except around Lonnie and Rogelio from what she's told me.
"Uh, try the library. You know how he hides. Do you want me to come with you?"
"Nah, I think I'll be able to do it, but thanks anyway!" And just like that, she was off again. I had a lot of experience tracking down Kyle by accident since I had to do tons of extra studying in both junior high and high school to keep up. I wasn't stupid, I just prefered to study at school instead of home, and when I did study at home, I usually ended up reading SCP's and watching creepy pastas online.
I finally got to my floor where I saw a scorpion tail disappear down the stairs. I peeked down to get a better look at the person, but they were gone. I unlocked the door to the dorm and closed it behind me. I heard Coldplay in the background. I went over to their room, but I noticed that their laptop was open on the coffee table by the couch. I didn't want to intrude but it was left open so I took a quick peek at what they were looking at. It was only a google search for "courthouse name change." I didn't think much of it since people do get married at this age. I walked over to their room and peeked through the door not to see them, but I heard something as the song changed.
Catra's POV~
I finally finished hanging my pride flag, yes, I have a pride flag. I hung it up on the wall that didn't have a window, coincidentally, the door swung inwards partially hid the flag when someone walked in the room. I opened up my phone and noticed I didn't like the song that was playing. Even though I had it on every playlist I listen to. "That's garbage," I muttered to myself as I liked it and hit skip because I was slightly pissed at myself. I calmed myself as "Ghost" by Halsey started playing.
I'm searching for something that I can't reach
I don't like them innocent
I don't want no face fresh
That's when I heard a little giggle from outside my door. I turned down the volume on my phone and opened the door. And there stood the most beautiful girl I had ever seen with the most beautiful cobalt blue eyes.
"Uh, hi!" she said as she stuck her hand out.
"Hi..." I couldn't find words for some reason. I was choking inside. After a good 30 seconds had passed, she seemed worried and waved in front of my face to get me back to the real world. "Oh, uh, my name's Catra."
"Hehe, I'm Adora, I guess I'm your roommate." Gods, she had the prettiest smile too.
"I'm Catra."
"Yes, I know, you already told me." She giggled again, I felt so embarrassed that I could feel my cheeks turn hot. I think she noticed my tail wrapped around my leg because she ended up saying, "Are you okay? I can leave."
"No!" I answered to quickly and loudly. Nice going dumbass, she's gonna think your stupid now.
"Oh, okay. Do you want help with your room?"
"Uh, sure..." I could feel my cheeks getting hot again. I had to look away from her, I could feel her eyes roaming my body trying to figure out what was wrong. I opened my door fully and got out of the way for her to step inside. I partially closed the door. As I looked back at her I saw her looking around in surprise.
"Uh Catra, where's all of your stuff?" She bent down to my box and noticed that there wasn't much left in it except for a small plastic bag that was wrapped up, so as to not spill it's contents out. She looked up waiting for my response.
"This is all of my stuff. I don't have a lot," I looked down and started to play with the end of my tail with anticipation.
"Oh-kay then." She looked down and then back up at me. She got up and vaguely pointed to my pride flag. "Nice flag you have there, it's pretty."
"Oh, uh thanks. I can take it down if you have a problem with it." She looked shocked, she grabbed my hand and pulled me into her room. She closed the door and pointed to it. And there, on the back of her door was a pride flag.
"We have the same colours. I'm a lesbian too. Although I've never seen a flag like yours." My flag had a heart in the middle with the lesbian colours, while outside the heart it had different ones. "I hope you don't mind, but what do the colours on your flag mean?" She looked at me with those eyes. I had to look away again, afraid of what to say. I looked back at her and I could feel the truth being dragged out of me.
"It's the trans flag."
I'm writing this while I have the idea in my head. I'm sorry for the extremely cliche way I have Catra acting. I promise it gets better over time. Peace!!
