The Cop and the Criminal’s Silent Kisses
I still tried my hardest to push Drake away from me before we got caught, but at the same time, I wanted him to stay. “Abbie I love you, and I don’t want to keep hiding anymore” Drake told me as he looked into my eyes and stroked my cheek. Those footsteps were still coming down the hall. Louder, and louder.
“Drake I don’t think you understand“ I tried to tell him.
“I do, trust me. I just-“ he said, but his voice was cut off by another voice, coming from down the hall.
“Sir! Sir!” we heard, followed by a couple of fast footsteps.
“Yes?!” said another police officer.
“Head of Police Departments has been looking for you, he told me to find you and bring you to his office immediately.” The other voice said again. Relief filled up in my body. If the police officer left it would give me time to push Drake away and tell him to leave before we got caught by him.
“Oh alright. But I have to grab a few papers from my desk. Give me a moment.” Said the police officer. I frowned. He was coming this way again. The footsteps were getting closer, and closer. Until –
“WHAT IS THIS?!” the police officer yelled as he looked at the half naked Cop and prisoner lying on top of each other.
He forcefully pushed the cell doors open and walked up to us, his face red steaming hot. He grabbed Drake’s ear and pulled him up and out of the bed by it, as Drake yelled in pain. The old police officer let go of his ear and used that same hand to slap him very hard on his cheek. It sounded extremely painful.
Drake held his hand on the cheek he had been slapped on and had a painful look on his face.
“Drake...” I said quietly as I tried to comfort him by resting my hand on his.
“YOU STUPID BOY!” yelled the police officer with strong power in his voice. “DO YOU NOT KNOW THE RULES OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT?!?”
“Sir I-“ he said with sorry in his voice. I felt extremely bad.
“DON’T YOU SIR I ME! YOU STUPID FOOL!” yelled the police officer. He grabbed his ear again and began to drag him out of my cell.
“Sir wait!” I yelled as I quickly jumped up from my bed and ran over to them.
“Its-it’s not his fault...” I told him. He let go of Drake’s ear and folded his arms in disbelief.
“Abbie, don’t” Drake said, rubbing his hot red ear. “I should have listened to you” he told me, holding my hand in a place the police officer couldn’t see. I looked up to him with pity on my face and felt a cold, stone tear run down my face. Still looking at me, he softly wiped it off my cheek. I could tell his eyes were tearing up.
“Well who is to be punished?! You are both stupid idiots for this sickening behaviour!” the officer yelled as he smacked Drake’s hand away from my face.
“Sir please I, I’m sorry...” Drake said quietly.
“Sorry?! You stupid, stupid boy! Come with me!” the officer yelled, grabbing his ear again and dragging him out of my cell.
“Abbie!” Drake yelled as he was pulled down the hall.
“Drake!” I yelled back. “I love you...” I whispered to myself, follow by a wave of tears.
I kneeled down on the cold hard floor and grasped the cell bars of the door, crying to myself.
What the hell have I done?
