The Cop and The Criminal’s Secret Kisses
I put in my key in the key hole and opened the house door. As I stepped in, I yelled “IM HOME!” and I got some replies.
Dad yelled “Hi honey! How was shopping?” from the top of the stairs, mum yelled “in the kitchen, making dinner!” from the kitchen, and Chantal simply yelled “Be quiet I’m listening to music!” from her room. I walked up to dad first, on the stairs. I sat on a stair three steps below the one he was sitting on, and looked up at him.
“Shopping was great Dad! We went on search for the perfect prom dresses and accessories, then we used our leftover money for something small at Burger King” I said, sarcastically licking my lips.
“Oh, too bad. It’s rice and my special sweet curry sauce for dinner tonight. I take it you’ve already eaten?” I looked down at the bottom of the stairs. Mum was now sitting on a stair too, looking up at me.
“No! Where did you get that idea? I’m definitely having dinner, I love your curry!” I yelled as I jumped up. Mum and dad just laughed.
“Show me the dress, show me the dress, show me the dress!” Chantal shrieked continuously running down the stairs towards me. She then sat on a step too, a few away from mum.
“Oh yes! The dress, show us!” said mum. Dad just rolled his eyes and said “Girls...” I pulled out the dress from one of the shopping bags and held it up. It was beautiful. The dress was silk, strapless and dark pink, went down to my feet and had big sexy ruffles from the waist down. There was a see through net layer over the ruffles to make it even more gorgeous, and a red bow across the waist at the back. The top half was also pink, but it had clear sequins, so it sparkled like stars. I loved the dress.
“Wow.” My dad said when I held it up for a few seconds.
“Are you sure it isn’t too fancy?” asked my mum.
“No! Not at all! Prom is a big thing mum, everybody is going to be wearing big Cinderella dresses, looking for their prince charming. Only, they won’t be looking as good as me!” I said, winking and doing a little hip wiggle.
“Wow Abbie, It’s gorgeus! How much was it?” Chantal told me, feeling the soft fabric of the dress.
“Good point Chantal. How much was it?” asked mum. I hoped this wouldn’t come up.
“£70. The accessories were an extra £15, and the left over was used for Burger King. I still have a few change...” I said grabbing my purse from my bag and fiddling around in it.
“No worries Abbie. I guess you would spend about £90, prom is a big thing right? And you have been working particularly hard in school and at home lately dear. The dress was definitely worth the money anyway.” My mum told me. I was overjoyed, but mostly surprised.
“So I don’t have to work my butt off to pay you back?” she laughed and shook her head. Her face suddenly changed from proud to extremely worried.
“Oh dear, I left the curry on the stove!” she said as she ran to the kitchen. It didn’t matter, because it was still delicious.
The next day I got back from school at normal time, and me and Chantal entered the house. Mum came walking towards us, her phone in one hand.
“Oh dear, I was just about to call you saying you should stop at the shops on your way home to buy some pasta for dinner!” she said, disappointed. I groaned. The shops were about 10 minutes walk away, and I was tired from a long day of school. But I know that mum starts making dinner at around 5:30 and I knew I wouldn’t go later.
