"In the end, it seems they never found whoever used the ODM gear without permission. Who could it have been?" Said Gunther.

"Beats me, right now I'm more worried about the upcoming rookie solicitation. How many rookies will be willing to join us just for the hell of it?" Replied Eld.

"Hey, Eren, Y/n, is there anyone in your guy's class who's thinking of joining us?" Asked Gunther.

Me and Eren were feeding the horses.
"There are." I answered.
"Well there were, I'm not sure about now." Added Eren.

"Assemble!" Yelled a soldier.
Gunther and Eld saluted and Eren and I were finishing up what we were doing when Dad came on his horse.

"Make ready at once. We're going on patrol."
"Yessir!" Said Gunther and Eld in unison.

Me and Eren joined them
"G-good morning, Captain Levi!" Said Eren as he saluted.
"Hey Dad." I said.

"Hey Y/n. Listen Eren, don't fall more than 2 lengths behind. You're only allowed to wander around because I'm watching you. Don't forget that." Said Dad.

""Yessir." Said Eren. I could tell Eren's still scared of Dad but it's starting to show less.

"Let's go." Said Dad.

We were all standing in front of a platform of some sort. We were about to pick regiments.

"I am Commander Erwin Smith of the Scouting Regiment. Today you choose a regiment to join. To put it bluntly, this is my invitation for you to join the Scouting Regiment. I am sure that after this recent Titan attack, You've already come to know their horror as well as their limits of your on abilities. However! Through this battle, humanity has gained an unprecedented advance towards victory. I'm preferring to Eren Jaeger. He has proven by risking his life and limb, that he is unquestionably on our side. What's more, he has helped us not only foil to the Titans' invasion, but given us a way to learn the truth behind the Titans as well!" We were all surprised when we heard this. Commander Erwin continued. "We have a reason to believe that the basement of his home in Shiganshina houses a secret of the Titans that not even he is aware of. If we can reach his basement, we may be able to obtain information that will help us break free from the Titans' century-long tyranny."
"Basement?" I heard Reiner say.
"Things have already progressed this far?" Asked a cadet.
"If we can figure out what the Titans are, we can turn the tables on them!" Said Another cadet.

"We will head for the basement in Shiganshina District. However doing so will require taking back Wall Maria. In other words our goal is the same as it's always been..." A girl with orange hair and a man with blonde hair take out a map and show it to us. "...but now that Trost gate is unusable, we've no choice but to depart from Claneth District, further to the East..." Commander Erwin continued with his plans for a while. Once he was done the people who wanted to join the Garrison left.

"That's pretty far back." Said Eren as we were looking at our positions for the expedition.

"This is the safest position in the formation. Not even the supply wagons get this level of treatment. Our goal this time is simply to leave and come back though. This expedition is meant to be short, as it is a test run to see if we can get you all the way to Shiganshina or not." Said Gunther.
