"They lifted the cloth off of the jar and revealed..."

Valentina's POV:

They lifted the cloth off and showed a jar of darts.

Lana: 'What the hell is this?'

"It's time to play the alpha's game. Where the ante... is your life." Retorted Miguel.

"Inside this jar is a golden dart; you to find it and place it on the pedestal." He said, pointing to the pedestal and chest behind us.

"You pull the black dart, you go onto the final death challenge. No vote." He continues.

"OK, flip your cards." He ordered.

We did so.

"Right, I got ace. What does that mean?" Lia asked.

"That means you're going first, Lia. Go for red or gold." Lizzie encouraged.

"Start the game!" Miguel shouted.

Lia reached into the jar.

"Could you stop moving the goddamn table!?" she shouted.

We stopped moving and jumped back.

"Thank you," she muttered, rolling her eyes.

She pulled a red dart.

"OK, cool."

Vanessa: 'You didn't need to be impolite. You should have have asked us to not move the table before your turn.'

Everybody pulled red darts, and we had to go again.

And I got worried this time; the dart I tried to pull got stuck.

"OK, it's not budging! OK, wiggle, wiggle...." I grunted, wiggling the dart. After a second, it came out.

Valentina: 'Well, that was a close one.'

"I think one of the darts on the bottom is the gold, but there's still a chance of pulling black," Oli suggested.

"So, it's a risk?" Zach questioned, eyebrow in the air.

"Yeah, looks that way." Gear answered.

"Oli, I can do this for you. You saved my life." Joey faltered.

"You put us here. You could jump across this table and stop me as I pull this dart out." Oli joked, making me, Gear, Lana, and Lizzie giggle, even if the timing was off.

"Let me ask you something real quick," Lia fumed, standing up on her seat and pointing at Joey. "How come you put us in this mess and you're not willing to take a chance for us?"

We sat there, shocked.

Lana put her hands over her mouth.

This will not end well.

"I'm just saying that Oli saved your life!" she continued, still pointing at him and leaning forward.

Lia: 'Why don't you step up, Sir?!'

"So, you want me to do it?" Joey hissed.

"I want you to do it!" Lia cursed. "If you are here to save this group, prove it!"

"Alright, check this out, then." Joey gloated. He reached into the jar and pulled out a dart.

The dart was black.

The entire room went silent.

"Hm, I guess karma is a bitch." Lia scoffed, causing Oli to elbow her.

Gear: 'He pulled the black dart. He's going into the last challenge.'

Lizzie tipped the jar of darts out so we could find the gold. It took us a second, but we succeeded.

"Guys, I got the gold!" Veronica shouted, putting it on the pedestal.

The chest opened and revealed the dog's head. I put the tag on the dog collar and put it on the dog's neck.

Inside the chest, there was also a note, which Lana read.

It read:

'To finish cleansing the artifact, two must be selected by vote to face the challenge of a great alpha wolf to claim its heart.'

"So, we're going to have to vote." Gear stated

"Well, let's get back to the lounge, then." Vanessa squeaked.

We stood up and ran back to the lounge, waiting for who would join Joey to face the Dog Woman...
