*Tuesday*
"Why hasn't she woken up yet?" I ask impatiently.
"I don't know Rose. The doctors say she is barely even stable. We just have to be patient and pray that she'll wake up." Rob says.
"It's the day before New Year's Eve! She couldn't have picked a different week to be unconscious." Jake complains.
"I have to go home soon. She needs to be awake before I leave" Will adds.
"Kids stop complaining. Claire will wake up when she wants to" my dad says.
"Why don't you guys have some friends over tomorrow? It's New Year's Eve, might as well have a party." Rob suggests.
"Seriously?"
"Yeah, go for it. But if the house is a mess when I come home on the first, both of you are grounded."
"What about you dad?" I ask. "Where will you be?"
"The basement. Just lock me down there with a couple of beers and chips. I'll be fine."
"What are you doing down there anyways?"
"Just some stuff for your mother."
"You can come to my friends house. He's having some pals over from work and I'm sure he wouldn't mind one more" Rob offers.
"Yeah sure. That would be better than listening to their crappy music"
"Hey!" I say slightly offended. "Our generation's music is awesome."
"Yeah if you say so"
"We should go get stuff for the party. I'll see you guys later. Bye dad, bye Rob, bye mom" I say kissing each of their cheeks.
Will and Jake follow me out of the hospital. We go to the grocery store and buy soda and chips. Jake said he texted Dylan asking if his brother can buy beer and crap. Apparently he said yes as long as he can invite friends over too.
"We have to go to the dollar store." I beg one more time.
"No way Rose. Confetti and silly string are going to be way to hard to clean up."
"Pleaseee"
"Just go Jake. She won't shut up until she gets her way."
"Fine fine. But you're cleaning it up. I don't care if your leg is broken."
"Deal"
After stopping at the nearest dollar store, we have everything we need for tomorrow's party. We pull into the driveway and slowly out everything in the house. I take the chips since I can barely carry anything without dropping it. About an hour later, the three of us are pooped and lounging in the living room.
"How many people do you think are going to show up?" I ask breaking the silence.
"Well we are the hottest people in our school, so I'd say a lot."
"Conceited much?"
"Very."
"Before you two start bickering, we should probably decide what's for dinner tonight considering our chefs are at the hospital right now."
"How bout we just order some pizza?" Jake suggests.
"Fine with me but I'm not paying"
"Well I'm not"
"Then we aren't getting pizza"
"Why can't Will buy it?"
"He's our guest! He's not going to buy our dinner."
