It technically is in the 1st grade category but I wanted to give it it's own chapter.
I don't know about you, but my teacher made us write poems, like, she would make us open our poetry notebooks or take out a paper sheet, and then would tell us to write a poem with the only indication of making rhymes at the end of each lines. I still have a girl's poem, it's been taped on my wall for years, her name was Valentine (and fun fact : She was the person I've ever seen read a Warriors book)
For the little story on how I got it, the teacher had hanged with magnet around 8 poems from poets like Victor Hugo, Jacques Prévert, Maurice Carême, ect And also some of the "bright kids" (i SWEAR she worded it like this) on a steel closet in the back of the class and told us that we were allowed to take poems from the closet to write them in our poetry notebooks to learn them and recite them to the class then hang it back to the closet for someone else to write it, and I had taken Valentine's poem, and never brought it back because I had forgotten we had to put it back on the closet :,)
