My work inspires risks. And as every COP investigator, there is always some situation where you'll have to face death in the face. With me was no different.

Several times I've been in situations of danger with my companions at the station. I participated in many operations officers, both in the capital and in the other cities.

In one of those investigations, we identified a perpetrator of a crime of murder barbaric. A man had killed a teenager, after rape her. And did that strangling her, firing then.

The girl was found two days later in a thicket to 3 miles of your home. A dog found the body and was barking at his owner that approached and almost had a heart attack when he saw the girl's body. Police were thrown along with the expertise and the hearse of the Morgue. My team was the first on the scene.

The girl's body was burned, but not all, so had burned parts with whole parts of the body. The most affected was the face. I was hairless and almost no meat. Getting to shows only the skull, calcined. Recognition was out of the question. The identification would be by Ark dentist or by any document that was carrying that hadn't been burned by fire.

Searching by location, about 15 feet to the right of the girl was found a woman's handbag. I had no money inside, just the things that always got in a pouch of a Lady: comb, mirror, lipstick and a driver door-ballot with their documents. Her name was Ana Beatriz Silveira and had 16 years of age.

The coroner identified the cause of death. According to the medical examiner Dr. Sales, the girl was still alive when she was burned. In his throat had injuries that showed that she tried to breathe, but there was only fire. It was certainly not a quick death. Actually, it's been a cruel death. Really mean. Also other brands were not found, knife, shot or any aggression. Except in girl's privates. I was very hurt. The only piece of clothing that was missing was the panties ... Not burned by the fire. There was no trace of the piece. It just wasn't with her and was not found at the crime scene.

- Are you sure that the underwear was not found? Asked my superior boss.

- Absolute. Both my staff the expertise found no evidence of pieces of clothing around the perimeter of the scene of the crime. Only the purse was found shot.

Of course, this caused a lot of outrage. Their parents had registered a police report of disappearance a few hours before. By occurrence located the address of the House and drove us to a simple House, where we found a couple who waited for good news. And when they saw the sadness in our faces understood what had happened. Take a news like this is never easy. I have twenty years of police and it always makes me uncomfortable.

The poor woman collapsed on the floor. He was hospitalized for shortness of breath when we showed the picture of the document the father immediately recognized her daughter. It was just desperation. She was the only child they had.

Mister Leocádio, as he called himself, told me that his daughter was a sweet person. Kind, beautiful, extremely kind to everybody. Always helped those who could. A loving daughter and hardworking student in school. Had many friends and was cherished by all. He couldn't understand why someone would do that to your daughter. At that time, in silence, I made a promise to take the poor girl's killer to justice. Or die trying. I didn't know how I was around follow through. And it almost happened to die trying.

Juliana told what had happened and she was horrified.

-My God, Douglas. How does someone have the guts to do that with a poor girl? Juliana was angry.

- Sweetie, unfortunately in my work we deal with all kinds of people, including patients. And this guy can only be patient. Are the worst. Answered resigned.

-And I managed to identify someone? Asked.

Unfortunately no, but we are using all our instruments to be able to identify the killer. We're tracking the last steps of the girl. I believe that soon we will have some news.

I hope so, because a crime like this cannot remain without justice.

I promised Juliana, as promised to myself, who would pick up the bastard. And throw in prison. The will was put in prison and throw away the key.

As I said to her, traced the final steps of Ana Beatriz, or Bia, as it was called by parents and friends.

That day she had gone with some friends to the movies. It was a holiday and she really wanted to watch a movie that was premiering. The film was in the afternoon, in matinee at the cinema Cine Brazil, located in the city centre, right next to Square Marechal Rondon. As it was a holiday the town centre was empty and only the cinema was working. When the movie ended, around 6:30 pm, she stayed in a little square with friends and soon fired them and went to the bus stop. As it was a holiday, the buses used to be and I don't want to get too late to your House. Your parents would be worried. After that she went to the parade, his friends no longer seen. They found that she had taken the collective and headed for home.

Turns out she didn't get the collective vehicle. According to one witness: an itinerant who works selling popcorn in the square, after showing the picture of the girl, he recognized her and said that when she was waiting for the bus stopped a vehicle goal, of black color and apparently she knew who was driving. It didn't take long and she got in the car. Unfortunately the guy hadn't seen the sign. But we now have a clue ... Someone in a black vehicle VW model.
