I'm gonna try to explain it better, here.
So, this is what I originally wrote.
~He chose the chocolate and pencil. Y/n took the pencil into his own hand.
This pencil is worth 10 points or, 10 yen. That chocolate bar is worth 20 points or 20 yen. I am able to switch items places at will, even humans, but, it cost the life of an item or items that equal the same amount. This pencil isn't equal to the candy bar, so I can't trade their places.
But, since the pen is worth 50 points or 50 yen
The pen started to disintegrate, the particles went up into the air. Y/n held out his other hand, as the particles reconstructed into his hand, revealing the pencil.
So, it can be traded. Get it?~
I'm going to break it down (and change it), to make it more understandable.
Points
This is the most important part of his quirk.
1 point = 1 yen or about 0.01¢ USD.
Y/n likes to call them points, as it's easier to understand. He wasn't taught the value of money, so he made it basic for himself.
Everything has a point value. Even small things like pebbles, and individual pieces of grass or hair. Smaller point values than 1 is automatically filtered out, unless Y/n wants to see it.
Ex: Some gum would cost 150 points (about 1.50 USD)
Ex 2: A bento box is about 2,075 points (about 20 USD)
His eyes
Y/n's eyes get a light green hue, when he's searching for an item to sacrifice or to bring to him. This is visible to others around him.
His vision isn't limited to what's in his eyesight, but it he looks too far, it strains his eyes. He can see through walls, and if he decides too, clothing.
He can also use it for looking ahead.
Y/n eyes help him break down point value of an object. Y/n eyes block out small point values, such as pebbles or individual pieces of grass.
Ex: Human's themselves don't have point value as Y/n said. Their clothes do, such as their undergarments, socks, shoes, etc...
Ex 2: A 16 inch Teddy bear may cost 1,550 points (About 15 USD), but the cotton inside cost about 3,320 points (about 32 USD)
Sacrificing (or "trading")
Y/n needs to meet certain rules to be able to switch items.
1. An item must be chosen to be switched.
2. An item (or more) must be chosen to be sacrificed.
3. The items must be equalient in points, or the sacrificed item(s) have to cost more. (There is an exception to the rule called 10%)
4. The sacrificed item must be held in his left hand, but the switched item can be put anywhere.
If these four rules are met, then an item can be switched.
(Correct) Ex: A leather wallet 4,670 points (about 45 USD) can be sacrificed for some oreos which is about 327 points. (3.15 USD)
(incorrect version of Ex. 1): 327 points worth of oreos cannot be sacrificed to receive a leather wallet.
10%
This part of the quirk is an exception to rule three. 10% is only used in rare situations, and it has consequences of it's used too much.
The way it works is, you're able to sacrifice something that is 10% less than the wanted item. It's like a discount sale.
Or, the wanted item is 10% off.
Drawbacks
For his eyes: If he looks too far for an item, it slowly affects his eyesight. He may have to wear contacts or glasses in the future.
For points: Doesn't have any draw back, just gets annoying when he gets sick and sees all point values.
For sacrificing: It makes his left hand seem like it's on fire, depending on the amount of items sacrificed. It can actually give him 3rd degree burns, if over used.
For 10%: It raises the prices for the next three or four switches. It always makes him a bit dizzy, and a bit forgetful.
I hope this is a bit clearer, and I'll be willing to answer questions. + A good example of this, is Saiki Kusuo's ability 'Apport'. (*´ω`*) - Yume.
