Years before

Summer break ended and the new semester was approaching. A lot of seniors graduated with honor and were replaced by a new freshmen.

Students scattered around the campus, chilling and just enjoying the beautiful cozy day. The entrance was full of students standing with lots of bags around them, some were just chatting and laughing with each other, some students were silently sitting on the stair rail busy with their phones.

Arrived in front of the entrance was a black tinted Mercedes-benz V-class which cause almost the students stayed silent, curious on who was in the car.

"New student?"

"Wow, this kid hit different.."

"The family must be rich af,"

...

Izzy was anxiously scanning through the entrance. She wiped her clammy hands for the thousandth times since they left from home. Her mother, Mrs Smith, smiled looking at her daughter's behavior. She reached for her hand and rubbed it slowly. Izzy turn her attention to her mother sitting next to her inside the car.

"Ma, this is kinda nerve-racking. What if there are bullies? What if they disturb me? What if I'll not get any friends, what if-"

"Honey," her father interrupted. He was sitting at the shotgun seat, next to their driver. "Trust ma and pa, college is the best time of life. It's such a waste to just stay at home, homeschooling. I am 101% sure you'll get a lot of new friends, boyfriend even," Mr Smith joked leaving her daughter pouting her lips, looking at her mother helplessly.

"Your pa is right, we want you to experience this kind of life as well. Baby, you're pretty enough to gain all of their attention. Don't worry. Just be confident, be yourself. People are gonna love you." Her mother assured, still holding tight onto her daughter's now relaxed hand.

Izzy glanced from her mother to her father and back to her mother and sighed. She smiled and nodded slowly. " I guess I'll give it a try then," she surrendered. There was no way she was gonna back up, they were already in front of the entrance anyway.

"But why are these people staring at our car? They're so weird, they make me not wanna go out even more." She whined, frowning at the sight outside their car. "Don't worry honey, they're just curious. And one more thing," Izzy let go of her mother's hand and scooted closer to the front. Her face was right next to her father. Mr Smith took out something from a shopping bag which made Izzy's eyes widen.

"No way, pa! You really get it for me? Where did you find it? That's my favorite cap!" Izzy jumped internally while waiting for her father to give her the white, plain baseball cap. Her parents chuckled on their princess's unexpected reaction. People may found it overreacting but that was her real self. She got excited for a simple gesture and was very innocent.

"Of course I'll get anything for our princess. Do you like it?" Mr Smith asked, smiling towards his daughter.

Izzy looked at him like he committed a crime. "Pa, don't be ridiculous, I love it! So much! Thank youuu," Izzy excitedly cupped her father's face and gave his cheek a peck. Then she turned towards her mother and did the same thing. Izzy took off her current black, same design cap and wore the white one instead.

"How do I look?" Mr and Mrs Smith admired their daughter and nodded approvingly. "You look good," they both replied at the same time. She checked herself and the cap suited her whole outfit, especially her ash brown hair. The white baseball designed jersey tucked in her baby blue jeans paired perfectly with the cap and her typical white Adidas sneakers. Satisfied enough, she kissed goodbye to her parents before grabbing her guitar which was laying sideways on her feet and exited the car.

...

Waving her tiny hands, her eyes followed their car until it went through the school gate. She slinged her guitar's bag over her left shoulder and turned around just to see the students looking at her, more like staring. She took off her cap and wore it backwards as she smiled to the students who were still locking eyes at her.

"So...can I...enter?" The students blocking her way just stared at her silently before moving their way to give her some space to walk. She thanked them properly before making her way through the double wooden door. Reaching for her Iphone 11 pro max, she searched for her mother's name and clicked it. She read through the information about her dorms.

'Princess, your luggage and your backpack are already in your dorm. Dorm number 1246, good luck baby <3 enjoy your stay. Ma loves you so much 😘 will visit you often or just crash our house.'

'Hey, pa loves you too, okay. Work smart honey 💖'

She chuckled and shook her head. Her parents never failed to make her smile and loved.

"Oo la la, look who is here. Lady Smith is finally entering school after being trapped in the castle." Izzy perked her head up just to catch Blake, her neighbor slash childhood friend smirking at her.

"Oh dear, never thought you'll be the first person for me to interact with in this big hallway. Hi Blakey, how are you?" The guy named 'Blakey' pouted at the nickname and strided his long thin legs towards her, crossing his arms. 'Blakey' was a guy with tall figure, tanned skin and blue eyes. His hair was a mixed colour of dark brown coming from the roots and blonde. He wore a pair of black ripped jeans with a Levi's blue jacket.

"First of all, nice cap." He complimented while his sneaky hand snatched it from Izzy's head earning a groan from the girl. "Second of all, don't call me Blakey anymore cause I'm already a big boy." He stated while wearing the cap, complaining about the size of the cap that didn't fit his big head.

Izzy brush her messy hair before glaring at the boy. "Blakey, I don't care about how big you are now, please I just got that cap minutes ago and it is designed specially for my head." She said annoyed and snatched the cap back. "But-" she stopped while rummaging her small backpack and took out the recent black cap she wore. "I think this colour suits you better." Blake's eyes brightened up and excitedly, he received the cap with his two hands and adjusted it to his size.

"Are you seriously giving this precious cap of yours to me?" He asked, still couldn't accept the fact he got the exclusive cap.

"Yes baby, 100% sure. It's not like you can't afford it." Izzy laughed.

"Thank you so much!" Blake couldn't contain his excitement as he lifted Izzy in the air while spinning them around.

"U-um Blakey, people are looking at us," she whispered embarrassed. Blake put Izzy down and glanced towards the students watching them. He bowed while apologizing repeatedly clearly embarrassed. He dragged Izzy who was laughing at him to the front of the elevator.

"What is your room number?" He asked pressing the level up button. Izzy  took a deep breath to stop the funny feeling in her stomach.

"It's 1246, how many dorms are there anyway? The number reach thousand shocked me." She curiously asked.

"I don't have any idea, probably lots. A lot." He confirmed. "Let's go," Blake grabbed the guitar from Izzy and slinged it on his shoulder instead. "Ready to meet your roommates?" He asked as they entered the elevator going up to her dorm's floor.

"I have roommates?" Blake frowned at her as he tried to contend his laugh. "Of course, this is college, they won't give every student a room each. They'll be poor to death. You're so funny." Blake giggled leaving Izzy still confused and a bit worried.

"I hope they're good people. Don't wanna use my karate skill the first day here though." She crossed her arms, still a bit worried.

"Aishh stop worrying. I've never met anyone who is bad, maybe weird, but a good kind of weird of course. Don't worry Izzy, I'm here to take care of you..." He assured.

"Alright. I'll take that as a promise. Let's go." Izzy lead her way out of the elevator followed by Blake who was smiling very widely.

"I guess we're in the same level. Great!"
