After a panic inducing false alarm at U.A caused by reporters trying to break into the school, Class 1-A came to a decision about who should be their class representative and more or less be the leader of the class. While there were debates between Y/n because of his experience or Deku because of his impressive intellect, the class finally decided on Tenya Ilda as the Class Rep and Momo Yaoyorozu as the Vice Rep. After the class rep has been chosen, Class 1-A's homeroom teacher reveals the plan for today's training.

Y/n Pov~

"For today's hero basic training, it's turned into a class with three instructors. All Might, me and one more person" Aizawa explains, Turned into? Wonder if it's some kind of special case I ponder but before I could question what he means, Sero beats me to it. "Excuse me, what'll we be doing?" he questions with his hand raised, Aizawa then shows a white card with bright blue writing on it that says RESCUE. "Disasters, shipwrecks and everything in between. It's rescue training" he explains to the class, "Rescue? Sounds like it'll be a lot of work this time too" Kaminari adds, earning an excited cheer from Mina. "Idiot, this is the duty of a hero. My arms are ready to rumble!" Kirishima exclaims with excitement, "No one can beat me in the water, ribbit" Asui says confidently. "Hey, I'm not done" Aizawa groans in annoyance, silencing the class, "You can decide if you want to wear your hero costumes or not this time. Because there is a probability that costumes can limit your abilities too" he explains as he presses a button on a remote and after he does, the cases that contain our costumes start to come out of a wall on trays, each one with the number of our seats in the class. "The training will take place off campus so we're taking a bus. That is all, start getting ready" the tired teacher sighs and walks away as we all start to grab our costume containers. Rescue training, something I've always admired but my quirk is hardly suited for. I usually end up doing more damage than fixing it, I'll have to work extra hard in finding a way to overcome this shortcoming I sigh as I work on putting on my hero costume, which due to the multiple straps, belts and harnesses, it takes longer than most. After we're all finished suiting up, we wait outside in the front of the school for the bus to come. I look over and see Deku is wearing his P.E. clothes with some elements from his hero costume. "No costume today Deku?" I question as I walk up to him, he chuckles nervously and rubs the back of his head, "Well mine kind of got torn up in the mock battle the other day, so I'm waiting for the support company to fix it" he explains, earning a scoff from Bakugou who is behind him. While we talk, Uraraka walks up to us and notices me giving Kacchan an evil eye, "What's up with you and Bakugou? If you don't mind me asking?" she questions, "What do you mean?" I tilt my head. "Well, you call Deku, Deku which is something only he did before I started to. And you call him that nickname that he seems to hate, what was it again?" she tries to think of it with a finger to her cheek. I snicker to myself at this and rub the back of my head, "Jiga" I remind her, earning a confused look from her, "It started when we were kids, he started calling him Deku which means "someone who can't do anything right". At first it bothered him but after a while, I made him realize that I like the name Deku, because it also derives from "Dekiru" which means someone who tries even if they can't do something and since then it kinda stuck" I shrug, earning a cute smile from Uraraka. "And what about Bakugou? He seems to hate you even more than Deku, is it because you call him Jiga? What does that mean by the way?" she questions rapidly in confusion. Before I can answer her question, Momo steps in and answers for me, "Jiga, means ego. It normally is used in a positive manner, to describe one who has incredible confidence in themselves and has the skill or resolve to deserve such high praise of themselves" she explains for me. Why do I feel like this is gonna be a habit with her and Deku around? I sigh, "That doesn't sound so bad, why does he hate it so much?" the brunette questions. "Because the same way as Deku can be interpreted as good or bad, so can Jiga. While most think it's a compliment, I don't mean it that way." I shrug as the topic of our conversation's blood starts to bubble as he stares at us with rage in his eyes. "I call him that because he's an egotistical ass who thinks he's the greatest thing since-" I start to say but Bakugou's roar drowns me out as he prepares a massive explosion to hit me in the back but instead of doing what I normally would do, which is harden and tank his attack, I turn around and face the roaring hero in training. He seems surprised by this and stops his attack before it hits me, "What do you think you can take my blast head on without even hardening? Don't tell me you think that highly of yourself" he scoffs and crosses his arms. "No. As stupid as you are, I know that you have more fire power than I do. I wouldn't even attempt taking one of your explosions without hardening, anyone who has fought you knows how that would end" I roll my eyes as he huffs at this, "Then why did you turn around?" he raises an eyebrow. "Because, they were behind me and might have gotten caught up in your little pissy fit and gotten hurt" I gesture behind me, where Deku, Uraraka and Momo stood. "Tch, if they don't have the sense to move out of the way when such a big attack is coming, then they have no chance of becoming a hero even half as great as I will become" he scoffs with his arms crossed. "The only person that has no chance at becoming a hero is you Bakugou" I say seriously, he flinches at this and looks at me in surprise that I addressed him by his actual name for once. "W..... WHY YOU!!" he growls in fury, "You can get as mad as you want, but it doesn't make what I said any less true. If anything, it proves my point" I raise an eyebrow. "What do you know about being an actual hero? Like the teacher said, that time you spent at that half assed school means jack shit" he scoffs, "Be that as it may. Aizawa also told me something that you could learn from as well" I say as I look at him seriously. I might hate the guy, but I can't deny that he is driven, even if it's his massive ego that drives him, he's determined to be the best. But as much as I hate to admit it, we're in somewhat of the same boat when it comes to becoming a hero. We're both pretty strong and good at combat but that's about it, being a hero is more than just fighting villains, it's about making others feel safe and saving people when they can't help themselves, it's something that Bakugou and I both need to learn how to do in our own way. "Like I need you giving me pointers on becoming a hero" he scoffs and walks away, I roll my eyes and turn around to face Deku, Uraraka and Momo. "I've never seen anyone stand up to him like that" Uraraka gasps, "Although I wish you wouldn't egg him on so much, I can't deny that I'm envious. You've always stood up against Kacchan when he tried to bully someone, I wish I could defend myself like you do" Deku admits as he rubs the back of his head in embarrassment. "He's your friend, you shouldn't have to stand up against your friend" I chuckle as I ruffle Deku's hair, making him even more embarrassed. "He's your friend too Y/n" he sighs, "Yeah right" I scoff and cross my arms as he stands firm, "Despite how much you argue, you want him to succeed as much as I do. And despite how much he yells at you and tries to fight you, he looks up to you just like I do" my little brother presses the matter further. "Oh please, if you didn't know about All Might growing up you would have had posters of me on every inch of your walls instead of him" I snicker, making his face turn crimson as the girls raise an eyebrow at this. "What do you mean? Did Midoriya look up to you that much when you were children?" Momo questions as she tilts her head at Deku and me. "You could say that" I smile softly as scenes of our childhood play through my head.
