The next three periods go by uneventfully, leaving me bored. Seeing as my bestfriend has like literally no periods with me and the mysterious Alexandra is no where in sight, im left alone to think. Its is now lunch, finally, seeing as I do have the same lunch as Lesley, I begin my walk down the corridor. Stepping into the cafeteria I see my bestie already in the nacho line. Damn, fat ass couldn't even wait for me to get here.
Walking over to her I skip past the people in the line, ignoring the groans and protest, and join her up ahead. "Hey fatty," I say towards her as I come up behind her and hug her waist. I must've startled her, seeing as she jumps a bit before turning around to see me. "Girl, don't come up behind me like that I almost did you something." I laugh as she starts to go off on how creepy I can be sometimes. Getting her nachos and me just some chips and ice cream, we go find a table near the windows of the cafeteria. Sitting down she turns towards me a look of concern on her face, know what she's going to ask I shrug before responding. "I'm ok, promise." She shakes her head before responding "Are you sure, I know you don't like it when I pry but I just wanna make sure you're alright. I know you cared a lot for him and I just wanna know if there's anything I can do to help."
I smile at my bestfriend, she always know how to make sure I'm ok. She doesn't ask to much since whenever I talk about negative feeling, I tend to shut down more often then not. I never understood why, I used to be very vocal but after my mom left us I just was never able to speak on them again. Its not a problem, its not like I bottle it up, I just prefer to handle it on my own you know?
She quickly changes the subject to a lighter note and talks about another person that isn't too high on my good list today. "Have you heard about that new girl?" I sigh, knowing I heard a little too much about her. Deciding to play dumb I ask her who. "There's this new girl at school, I don't know her name but people are literally calling her Snow White. She like infamous now and its only her first day. She's in our grade too, I think."
Hmm, Snow White, glad to know I'm not the only one with comparisons.
"I heard she's that girl that killed her parents and ran off in a high speed chase." My friend continues to ramble on. Im not one for gossip but Lesley, here has enough for the both of us. "Wasn't that a rumor and was debunked by the policía," I asked, knowing that Alexandra has done some crazy things but not to that extreme. Right?
"I mean, it could be, but whats the fun in believing she's a normal teenager like us you know?" She giggles a bit before munching down on her nachos. I roll my eyes at her antics before opening my hot fries. "So anyway what you been up to today," I ask her, knowing that her day has probably been a little more eventful then mines. "Well- you remember Jeremy from math class last year?" She starts and I nod, remembering the lightskinned, freckled face, curly haired boy. He was honestly cute, but I had Dirk, and I thought Dirk had me. Guess I was wrong. "Well he-" she go off, as I start to tune her out. Across the way I see Dirk and Mary, sitting together with the football and cheerleading team.
I can't believe he just moved on that fast. I mean, after I caught him cheating he acted all mad, and sad, and other adjectives that I can't think of right now. 'Cause they are literally tonguing eachother down over there. And for some reason I can't look away. Mary seems to feel me staring cause, she pulls away to look up at me, before smirking and going back to kissing Dirk.
I hope she gives him S.T.D's.
"Marisol! Were you even listening," Lesley ask, banging her hand on the table, scaring me out of the non existent staring contest. "Yes, of course I was, you were finna get into how Jeremy asked you for froyo." I say casually looking down at my hot fries to avoid her stare. She pause for a second, I can feel her eyes on me. "Oh, well yeah, and the he-" I giggle, I just guessed but good to know I'm spot on.
