Warning: Depressing

"Dad who is this?"
a small boy with (h/c) hair asked softly, whilst walking up to a taller male with unkempt brown hair. The man looked at the boy, his eyes bloodshot. The boy handed him a small picture. The man took it from the boy carefully.
"She's your mother"
The man answered his voice breaking.
"Where is she?"
"She's gone"
"When is she coming back?"
"She's not coming back"
The man picked up the boy in his arms.
"How did you meet her ?"
The man took a deep breathe.

"By the time I was your age, I'd give
anything
To fall in love truly was all I could think
that's when I met your mother, the girl of my dreams
The most beautiful women that I'd ever seen."
He remembered the day vividly. His twin sister had brought a new friend over to the mystery shack to meet her family. He had been outside reading his journal, when his sister and another girl came running towards the mystery shack.
"Dipper!"
Mabel waved at him.
"Meet (y/n)"
"Nice to meet you
Dipper"
she smiled at him.
"Nice to meet you too, (y/n)"
"Mabel always mentions you"
"All good things, I hope"
(Y/n) giggled.

~The next summer~

Mabel and Dipper's grunkle Stan was throwing a party in hopes of ripping everyone off of their money (which it did).
Dipper and (y/n) got stuck at the ticket booth together. The whole time Dipper and (y/n) kept exchanging love filled glances at each other.

"She said, "boy can I tell you a wonderful thing?
I can't help but notice you staring at me
I know I shouldn't say this, but I really believe
I can tell by your eyes that you're in love
with me."
~
"Now son, I'm only telling you this because life can do terrible things."
~
"Now most of the time we'd have too much to drink and we'd laugh at the stars and we'd share everything
Too young to notice and too dumb to care
Love was a story that couldn't compare."
~
"I said, "girl can I tell you  a wonderful thing?
I made you a present with paper and string Open with care now, I'm asking you please
You know that I love you will you marry me?"
~
"Yes!"
(Y/n)
exclaimed happily.
The couple were now in their mid twenties and happy as ever.

~
A year passed and the couple were married and now had their first child, a baby boy.

~
"Now son, I'm only telling you this because life can do terrible things
You'll learn one day, and I hope and I pray that God shows you differently."

~

"She said, "boy can I tell you a terrible thing?
It seems that I'm sick and I've only got weeks
Please don't be sad now, I really believe
You were the greatest thing that ever happened to me."

~

Dipper's heart sank. It felt as if the world was crumbling in the form of his heart, but he stayed strong for (y/n) and the rest of their friends and family.

~
6 months later
(y/n) had passed on their anniversary.
That day it had rained as if the earth had also been mourning the loss of a wonderful person.

"Slow, so slow, I fell to the ground on my knees"

Everyone was devastated, the memorial was held at the Valentino's.
Everyone had been comforting each other.

~

"So don't fall in love there's just too much to lose
If you're given the choice then I'm begging you choose to walk away, walk away
Don't let it get you, I can't bare to see the same happen to you."

Tears streamed down his face.

"Now son, I'm only telling you this because life can do terrible things."
