I woke up face down on a carpeted floor in the middle of a brightly lit room. It was odd I felt different I had no idea what they had done to me while I was out, but that wasn't my priority right now. At that moment in time, my priority was to work out where I was. I looked around the room trying to figure out what was going on. The room was full of stuff that I'm sure a detective would be able to use to profile someone but I have never been much of a detective. The fact that the room was fully furnished and quite comfortable looking confused me more. When you get kidnapped you don't expect to wake up somewhere comfortable. But then you never really expect to get kidnapped I suppose.
As I looked around the room the walls were a cream colour and covered in artwork from Jackson Pollock to Banksy. The bed was a double with plain white sheets with a deep red throw over it. 3 doors were leading off from the room 2 Wooden panelled doors painted white and one plain metal door with 2 hatches in it one in the middle and one at the bottom. The wooden door on the left of the room led to a bathroom with the biggest free-standing bath I've ever seen and a shower in the corner with a toilet and sink with a large mirror the covered the top half of the wall. Behind the wooden door on the left, there was a room with sofas and a tv along with a large bookshelf full of books, there was another door at the back of this room which lead into a wardrobe that was full of jeans and t-shirts that were all the perfect fit. There was 2 pairs of shoes some slippers and a pair of pumps like the ones you wear in p.e at primary school, except these where sequinned. There was also an expensive leather jacket but the perfect fit it slipped on so easily and was so soft to wear.
I walked back into the bedroom at the centre of the rooms. It was at this point I noticed the cameras covering every room except the bathroom. I took a moment to collect myself and work out why my head hurt so much I then realised I had a lump where they had knocked me out. I sat back down on my bed and just waited in disbelief at the mess I'd got into.
I had waited for what felt like forever but was probably only about half an hour. When the middle hatch in the metal door opened and I saw them, those same green eyes that had walked into the shop.
"How are you feeling? That was quite a smack you gave the ground."
"Really. How am I? You knocked me out, kidnapped me, threw me in a room with a bolted door and you wanna know how I am."
"Well I could have told you on the way but no, you didn't want to come."
"You could have said the other option was being kidnapped and held against my will."
"That's what I said."
"No, you said you would tell me what going when I got here."
"Exactly like I said, that's what I said"
"It blatantly is not. You know what it doesn't matter. Why am I here?"
"Because we can help you because you're special."
"Okay, sorry to break it to you but you have the wrong person. I am in no way special. You must have the wrong person."
"So you're not Maxine Ameto"
"Well yeah I am, but I'm not special"
"Then our information must be wrong. Do you not prophesise the future with your dreams?"
"How... how... how do you know that?"
"Oh good so you are who we're looking for. That's a relief wouldn't want to accidentally kill you."
"Accidentally kill. What are you on about?"
"Well do feel different?"
"Yeah, but you did knock me out I'm not surprised. Why did you do something to me? Wait what did you do?"
"Nothing invasive we just gave you a little injection."
"And why do I need to be who you think I am for this injection?"
"Well if you weren't then your internal organs would melt after 24 hours."
"Casual then."
"No not quite painful I hear."
"Not one for sarcasm then."
"I have learnt that I do not understand sarcasm but I can try."
"You know what I would rather you just tell me why you have dragged me here?"
"I can't."
"What do you mean you can't?"
"You will be informed but for now I would recommend that you make yourself comfortable and someone will come to talk to you in a couple of days when you have settled in."
"A couple of days. What do you."
And with that, the hatch slammed shut before I could even finish my sentence.
I spent the next hour banging on the door shout to let me go to no avail. At that point, I decided that maybe I should have a bath and relax. I got out of the clothes I had been wearing since they took me and ran a deep bubble bath. The rush of adrenaline was starting to wear off and I felt the tiredness kick in. As I lay in the bath I started to contemplate what was happening and this is when it first happened.
As I got out of the bath I crashed to the floor, head feeling like it had been torn apart. I opened my eyes to no vision of the room I was in but instead a different room where I was hooked up to a wide array of wires all of which lead off to different places. My body started to shake and fit as I came back into the real world wondering what the hell just happened.
It was at this point that the metal door slammed open and in a state of semi-consciousness, I was dragged out of the room by my arms and into the room I had just seen. I could see them attaching wires to my body. An electrical pulse shot through my body like a bullet through the glass. The pain seared through my fingertips right to my toes. I wanted to yell out in pain but I couldn't something was stopping me. I looked for the girl with the green eyes but I couldn't see her. Black.
