"𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 now?" roger davies asked lyra as the walked out of honey dukes, bags in hand.
"where would you like to go? i'm just along for the ride," she shrugged.
"well we've practically been everywhere already," he pointed out to her.
"well, we haven't been everywhere."
"lyra pevensie i am not going to the shrieking shack."
"oh come on, we all found out that it hasn't been haunted for years and you're still concerned?" she laughed.
"honestly, davies, it's no wonder you weren't put in gryffindor!" george exclaimed from behind them. the two red headed boys ran up beside the couple of friends and quickly included themselves in the conversation.
"hello, boys," lyra greeted, linking arms with george and roger. "what are you scoundrels up to?"
"oh, you know, blowing up toilets and such," george grinned.
"oi, romeo, you're awful quiet," lyra quipped, rushing around to the other side of roger and grabbing fred's hand. he quickly pulled his hand out of her light grasp and chuckled.
"honestly, love, you can't expect me to just magically become your friend after years of resentment--"
"unjust resentment, if i might add. and it's not hard. you're just stubborn--"
"yeah, you're one to talk," fred rolled his eyes.
"lyra, sweetheart, my hand's getting cold!" george butted in.
"oh poor baby!" she cooed sarcasically. "if you want me to hold your hand, you'd ought to get your ass over here and hold my hand!"
"i would, but..." george paused dramatically and sniffled. "i'm not the one you want."
"oh for merlin's sake, bugger off; both of you!" fred exclaimed with a laugh, nudging lyra. they continued to talk about godric knows what, and at some point along the way roger ventured away from the three.
"so how are you and your little shagging partner?" george asked, wiggling his eyebrows.
"oh, fuck off, you just wish it were you."
fred held back a laugh and she turned to him. "george wishes it were him, but i wish it were you," she whispered in his ear, smiling innocently, and quickly turned around and ran into honeydukes, hearing george's "oh shit!" behind her.
she smiled to herself and wandered about the store, grabbing various candies. soon enough, the boys had gathered themselves and caught up.
"you never answered our ques--"
"your question, georgie. don't bring me into this," fred quickly corrected him, backing away with his hands held up.
"you both are so dramatic," she laughed and shook her head. "we're just fine. though i'd hardly call him a partner. more like friend with benefits. actually that's exactly what it is. now bugger off, and go find someone else to taunt."
