A KNOCKING FROM THE DOOR reverberated throughout my chambers distracting me from the paperwork piled neatly to the left of me."Come in." I command, still deep in thought trying to brainstorm the best solution to the current problem given to me by father.
Sir Ewan pokes his head round the door before fully opening it and stepping into my chambers. "My Lady, we've got the name of the traitor." My eyes snap to his at the news, providing him with my full attention and signalling him to continue. "One of our own," I frowned, displeased with the revelation.
"Who?"

Fully decked in my armour alongside my younger brother Arthur and with my good friends Sir Ewan and Sir Leon following behind us, we stride through the castle courtyard with great purpose. To catch the would-be sorcerer in our midst.
"Tell me more about this man." Arthur prodded, in the mood to strike up a conversation.
"Thomas James Collins - a nobleman. It was brought to our attention that he has been conspiring to use magic but we haven't had any evidence to place against him so we've been waiting to catch him in the act. This is why we must make haste." I explained, picking up the pace of my walking, the knights following suit. When we reached the house we were greeted by a courtier standing near the door. "He's in there?"
"Yes My Lady." The man bowed hastily.
"You had better be telling the truth. The one thing I can't stand is courtiers trying to place people in jail or get them executed because of a grudge." The courtier's face dropped, not in panic but certainly into an unreadable expression.
"I would never. I know this man and when I found out about this, I couldn't let it stand so I informed your knight," He gestured to Sir Ewan, "Right away." Gauging his words I turned to my friend for confirmation which he gladly gave.
"Alright. Open the door." The man bowed again and opened the door quietly, Sir Leon and I taking lead into the room.
In the corner the accused man stood, using his desk as support. On the desk laid damming evidence, there was indeed witchcraft in Thomas' possession. A doll made of straw, some herbs ment for use in magic and a small collection of notes were visible from where we stood by the entrance.
"Halt. Thomas James Collins you are under arrest for possession of witchcraft," Leon began, unsheathing his sword.
Now alerted by our presence Thomas stared in total shock, no idea what was running through his mind at this moment but a second later he made a break for the back door.
"He's getting away!" Cried Ewan from behind us. Turning to my good friend in disbelief and annoyance I whack him on the chest.
"You were supposed to cover all entrances with Arthur dollop head!" Ewan gave a sheepish smile to us as he remembered, "Go!" I demanded, pushing him out the door with urgency. Once he had run off I sighed deeply, pinching the bridge of my nose. "Sometimes, I swear, he does it deliberately. He's a damn decent knight but my god he's a numpty." Leon chuckled from beside me in agreement.
"Isn't that half his charm?" Tittering at Leon's remark I made my way over to the desk, inspecting the evidence.
"Among other things." I agreed happily, grabbing the notes and sifting through them. "These are letters," I began, Leon rested beside me, peering over my shoulder gently. I showed him the letters after reading a few passages from them, "From his mother... Mary I think." Placing the letters back down I switch it for the straw doll, rotating it around. "I wonder if she knows her son uses magic?"
